Some people have aberrant socialization and do not feel sympathy. Their perception of animals is much the same as yours would be toward a houseplant. If they have time, they feed and water them, if not, no big deal...
They may also have anger issues and poor impulse control...since it takes a log of neglect and abuse to create this kind of warped personality.

Abusing animals is a sign that a person is not to be trusted with the care of people also.
Unfortunately, unless they are caught breaking the law, there is not much to be done about it.

Animal Cruelty - A game the whole family can play!

Speaking of Cruelty I just adopted out the last puppy from a litter of 6 that were thrown into the Chattahootchee river at 5 days old. We rescued them and found 5 of 6 wonderful homes (one did not make it because of the abuse it received). All 5 are doing fantastic and have wonderful homes. If I find the person responsible I will have a good time them.

People are cruel and none of them have any moral compass left. The human race is just a sad disgrace for the animal kingdom. I wish I didn't have to be considered human. I suppose there are some good people left although the only ones I know of show dogs. So the best place to find good quality people is at dog shows. Maybe that's why I love showing so much, we all share a common bond and drive. And we can all laugh and cry together with our dogs. If anyone wants to make fun of that, well we only care what our dogs think of us anyway.

I actual have blended emotions about animal cruelty. i'm fascinated in preventing cruelty even as it includes drowning kittens and clubbing seals, and beating doggies. yet no longer a lot even as it includes swatting the biting flies, poisoning the fleas on my canine and burning lime sickness wearing pricey tics off of my little ones legs...

My x husband used to abuse my cats and dog. He abused animals when he was a kid too. His mother never punished him when he would hurt her animals. I never understood the reason why he would do that. And I sure as hell don't understand why his mother let him get away with it either. I would get into fights with him about how he treated animals. I was always punching him or hitting him when I would see things that he did to them. I don't til this day understand why and how people can abuse an animal. As far as I am concerned, it takes a sick, twisted and demented person to hurt any animal. It's sad to see this happen and it's real sad to think that people get away with it too.

People think they want pets and then they think its too much work and dont think about what where they can take them. So they just think they have to kill them, they leave then outside with nothing to eat or drink and they think the dog will die and it will all be over
