i dont think its because of biting because he also has one on his jaw line and there dont appear to be any open sores on the spots

first of all the wack job that wrote a dog grows out of mange is insane.... try to research online.... demodectic mange, scarcoptic mange, allergies, food issues, hot spots, fleas, lice, walking dandruff, or even a psychological issue. Some of these are not species specific... meaning--- you can catch some of them yourself!!!! scarcoptic is scabies....

my dog just had the same thing and we thought it was flea's but about a month ago we had to buy a different kind of food and then he started itching and now that we got the regular food he stop some dogs can have problem with corn and flour and that's what was in the other food i had gotten

One thing that the others did not mention is that allergies can cause skin conditions. Only your vet will be able to determine what tests are needed to diagnose and treat him. See the vet.

My dog use to have blad spots on his back so we took him to the vet and they said he was allergic to fleas and she gave him advantge and he is all better now. it a lillte liqiud you put on his neck once a month for the killing of fleas and tick.

Have him tested for mange. Better to catch it early before it gets worse. Vet is the best bet for any issue.

Take him to the vet and have them do a skin scrapping. Then, you will know for sure what your dog has.

Sounds like mange (sp??). This is a bacterial fungus that puppies usually outgrow. But, adult dogs can suffer from it as well.
