Our male, 6.5 year old, neutered cat is Leukemia positive (not on meds as his most recent bloodwork - less than 2 weeks ago - showed all his calcium and potassium levels to be normal) recently starting peeing in the living room.

The day after we took him to the vet, he pee'd on our dog's bed in the living room. He waited for my wife to come back after the dog's walk and for her to sit down to do it. We thought he this might be against the dog, even though the pup has been around for over a year now. So we picked up the dog's bed but he's now peeing in the same spot even though the bed has been removed.

We have not changed litter brands (he's never been picky about that) and we keep it in a closet on the 2nd floor and it's kept clean. He's still using the box, he's just doing in the living room, as well.

Any suggestions on getting him to stop? Getting rid of him is NOT an option so don't even bring it up.

I have tried everything from the cat food recommended by the previous owner, canned food and even human to no avail. What should I do? I think she is not drinking either. Will she starve herself to death? She is already pretty skinny. All she does is hide and everytime I put a bowl of food around her she refuses to eat. Any ideas? Thank you!!

I just wondered because my best friend's girlfriend told her that an owl attacked her cat, ( not a kitten) and flew away with it in its talons. I believe that's the way they carry their prey., but I've never heard of an owl attacking a cat! By the way I live in California, just in case you wondered & I don't know what type of Owl it was, wheather that is important or not.

I'm trying to wean my cats off fancy feast. Not sure if I should but avoderm or felidae. I know avoderm has the best nutrients in the market but what about felidae? Felidae is said to be of premium quality. Please help. Thanks

My husband brought our cat home from the vet with two out of the 5 kittens that she was carrying still alive. They gave her a c-section and spayed her at the same time. The vet said the kittens should be fine nursing on their mother but I have read that once a cat gets spayed she can't nurse. She seems pretty full still but I wanted to know signs to look for in the kittens just in case she stops producing or isn't producing enough. She does let them suckle but gets uncomfortable after just a few minutes and leaves their nest with the babies crying. How can I tell if they are getting enough milk?
P.S. Before everyone tells me how she should have been spayed, we found her already preggers on her first trip to the vet and I did not want to abort her babies.

Yesterday I asked why people who don't like cats get thumbed down for their opinions, and I admit I don't like them, but if I were a bad person for not liking them would I ask a question like this http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuL3KgZMvRPGV7dVO7bIFsYhBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20070913095928AAp36i6

I've had cats as pets, I know what they're like, but the reason why I don't like them now is because I raise poultry chicks and ducklings and I am sick to death of cats turning up in my garden looking for a free meal. They haven't got a hope of catching anything because the chicks/ducklings accomodation is too secure, but I hate it that a cat can wander in whenever it likes and probably think to itself "OOOH, free dinner!".

I need to name the 2 male kittens I found according to the vet so I can keep getting the rescue organization rate. Until yesterday..I thought one was a girl! I like human names and I would prefer they end in "y" or "ie". So far I think I like the name Jessie for one of them....but I need a name for his brother. They are pretty much solid smokey grey in color with medium length fur.

A few weeks ago, I found two 3 week old kittens by my home. I took them in and they have thrived so far. They have been wormed and fleas were removed. I took them to the vet yesterday for the 2nd time and the vet told me that they can't test for these diseases until at least 14 weeks old.

My question is...people usually adopt kittens at 7-8 weeks old and they kittens often come with paperwork that say the kitty is FeLV negative. How is that possible if it's too early to get any accurate result? I have 6 other cats in my home, all tested FeLV negative as youngsters...now I am told that none of those results even count.

Do I keep the kittens isolated until 14 weeks old....I wanted them to get aquainted with my other cats prior to that. They will be getting all other vaccines in 2 weeks.

Any advise from cat rescuers would be great!

Please help i have a small cat which i didnt let out of the yard but has started jumping over the wall. I know i cant keep him in 24/7 but when he does go out he keeps going around to the front door(which is on a busy main road) . I never let him out the front, he uses the cap flap at the back. I have unblocked the bottom of the gate so he can get back in but it's as if hes loosing his bearings. I've already lost a cat on the road sadly and dont want it to happen again. I also have a big cat that goes out so dont feel its fair to not let them out. Please help.

My cat has fleas..poor baby, first time ever and I tried the dish soap trick, it wasn't dawn but I heard that any soap works. It did work, somewhat..some of the fleas died and rinsed off and some are still alive, not sure how many..some also were not moving after, but are still attatched to his fur..are they dead? I left the soap on for about 5 minutes..should I leave it on longer? I am going to do it again in like a week or so, does Dawn really work best? Should I buy a flea comb to use after the next time? I feel really bad that it didn't kill them all...especially since it's his birthday (he's 4) and he hates baths.....I know I am a dork! lol! After his fur dries and he stops licking I am going to use a Flea Halt brand wipe to kill more of them.... I am sad... :( I can't help but feel like I did it wrong or something!

A week ago this stray female cat came up my driveway, she has been neglected and it's very underweight. I have been caring for her for the past week. When I first held her I noticed that her stomach was quite round for her hips being as extremely thin as they were.. Her spine and ribs are visible.
She eats a can of cat food and about a cup of dry cat food a day. Before you scold me for not taking her to the vets...I put an ad in the paper the day I found her to check and see if someone lost her, if no one claims her after the ad is up (this monday) I will be taking her to the vets. Here is my question...how can I tell if she is pregnant? I checked her nipples and they're not pink, but they look kinda swollen. Today she was laying on my lap and I heard this funny noise coming from her stomach, it sounds like fluid moving, like a crackling noise sorta. Could this be her kittens moving? Never having a pregnant cat myself, I tried to put 2 and 2 together. But, I'm not positive. Any tips?

If we were moving with cats in soft carriers, how do we deal with the litter box situation? Do we keep a litter box close by and let the cats out of their carriers in the car so that they can use the litter box and then put them back in the carriers?

Help?

There is a stray cat that comes to my house alot. I REALLY wnat to take it in but my dad wont let me. (im 18 btw) i could take care of it, we have a big house (also 2 dogs a cat and 2 birds) its so sweet and its REEAALLy skinny, i take cat food out to it everytime its around, my dad thinks its someone on my blocks cat but i dont think it is, and even if it was, who the hell lets a cat get that skinny, and why shouldnt we save it from its "owners". but i still think its homeless. I dont wanna call humane society cuz its an older cat (bout 1-2 years) and it might not get adopted which means theyll kill it, im attached to it (havent given a name tho) well i guess my question is, what do i do, should i try to beg my dad, or let it be?

she does this most days and it is worse when she can't find her kitten who is now supposedly independent of her at 23 weeks old or her adult playmate. it is cute but worrying as she will do this hours on end. is she just trying to teach the boys how to hunt/play or is it a psycological problem she couldn't nurse her babies but my vet hasn't got a clue as she is very healthy now considering how ill she has been. sensible advise/answers only

They are both healthy, indoors and spayed. But one of them is fluffy.

When you write your recommendation, please tell me why also.
Thank you!
