she does this most days and it is worse when she can't find her kitten who is now supposedly independent of her at 23 weeks old or her adult playmate. it is cute but worrying as she will do this hours on end. is she just trying to teach the boys how to hunt/play or is it a psycological problem she couldn't nurse her babies but my vet hasn't got a clue as she is very healthy now considering how ill she has been. sensible advise/answers only

she has only been like this since the kittens left the nest and home. bagheera is the only one who stayed. she does get one on one time like all the cats/kitten do in the evening. is it just a phase or will she be like this always. until she had the kittens she was so timid now she is so out going. she is 'fixed'

my cat does it all the time with random things like socks and bra's ...
Your cat is proud, thinking it caught a real animal.. and wants to show you so you give it praise..
my cat does this all the time at night in the morning every chance he gets and we havent found a way to stop him.

Many cats do this. It is what they would do with actual prey in the wild. The cat would catch something and bring it to the young. The vocalizing calls the kittens to her.

I have a female that had kittens 13 months ago that still does this!!!!! We have three of her boys and they could care less and she really cares less about them at this point, but she still does it!!!!!

i have a cat just like that. her name is fester. she wakes me up in the middle of the night and drops a hair tie on my nose (that's what she plays with). it means that she wants to play. if cats do that a lot, that means that ur not playing with them a lot. that means that u need to start interacting with them. i live on a farm, so i always get a cat now and then. in fact, i own 32!(2 inside,30 outside) and i'm only 11!

She's quite normal. Our female, who has never had kittens, does this regularly, especially at night. We find it cute, too.

well I have been a Cat owner all my life and if its one thing i can tell you is that cats are not the most ... what should i call it ... friendly? no they are, they dont like to get too close to their owner or other animals. she couldnt wanna play because you said it gos on for ours. so i would say that she wantsto go outside and hunt but i dont know if you'd allow that, so goodluck.
