You're not "wicked" for hating cats. You have your reasons for not liking them, but they need food from somewhere.

Then you have a good reason for wanting them at bay! No i would not give you thumbs down for your feelings about cats. (I actually think this thumbs down thing goes a bit too far) We're all entitled to feel one way or another about cats/Dogs and any other animals!
Personally what makes me mad is people who take on pets on the spur of a moment or simply because the kids want one for Christmas or whatever. After that ... Well we all know what happens! Animals are neglected and usually abandoned if not worse.
Did i have chicks/Ducklings or whatever i wouldn't like to think that cats wandered in my back yard and helped themselves either.

Concerning your question about the slug pellets, there was a question asked by Leelayne 4 months ago; I didn't think of it at the time but her cats might have been victims of slug pellets rather than intentional poisoning.

No, you aren't wicked. Some people like different animals for different reasons. My boyfriend likes dogs better, but tolerates cats. My grandma had a strong dislike for cats, she would even cringe when I would pick them up and pet them. "Get that cat away from your face! He might be sick!"
If you were poisoning them or being mean then you would be wicked, in my opinion.
We had chickens when I was a kid, and I will never forget Mom and the shotgun after she found out this cat we had killed 9 laying hens one night for sport. The cat didn't eat any of them, just killed them. Don't ask what happened to the cat.

I don't know about wicked, but I don't know the point of spreading hate.
I get tired of people saying that they hate cats. In reality, your hatred and anger is misdirected. You should hate the humans that have caused the overpopulation. You should hate your neighbors who have absolutely no consideration for you or your property, and allow their cats to roam freely.
I have two cats. I love them. They don't go outdoors. I used to take them out to my garden while I worked, but can no longer do that. My neighbors have brought home cats, which they allow to roam. Their cats are not vaccinated, treated for parasites or neutered.
It's very sad when a responsible owner, like myself cannot enjoy the freedom of my own yard. Not because of the cats, but because of the humans. The cats didn't hop on a bus and move to my yard - humans brought them here.
I can catch the cats, get them spayed/neutered and re-adopted into responsibile homes, but that won't stop my neighbors from bringing home more and tossing them outside. My problem is clearly with the neighbors, not the cats.
I do find it odd that you claim to hate cats, but keep posting on the cat forum. Is it your intention to continue to spread hate, or do you really want a solution?
I think you should use all that energy to actually do something, rather than just venting your "hatred" of animals who have no control of their circumstances and simply trying to survive.
It's fine if you want to perch on your soapbox screaming spay/neuter and keep your cat indoors. I couldn't agree more, outdoor cats are a problem. But let's be fair - humans are the cause.
You need to talk to your neighbors, and try being as blunt and candid as you are on this forum. Your neighbor who's cat was poisoned by slug bait should understand the dangers out keeping cats outdoors.
Tell them that you don't want their cats in your yard. It's a valid request. They shouldn't be in your yard. Let them know that you will be humanely trapping all cats and bringing them to shelters.
If you have a problem that you need solved - go to the source, not the symptom.
Hate is a waste of time and energy. It will never solve your problems, or bring you to any resolution.

Nope, you're not wicked. Problem on YA is, there are so many people who think their opinion is so unbelievably valuable, it gives them the right to 'thumbs down' those who have a different opinion. Free country. Try not to take it personally. As for cats, they are animals with very distinct personalities and of course natural instincts. You certainly don't have to like them, but if you have to live with them, or around them, it may help to try to respect them. They really are intelligent, and, I find, quite funny when I give them human voices in my mind. You are so right: "Free meal!" Exactly! I have a cat, and he can certainly be infuriating at times, but I can also laugh at some of the things he does and the way I imagine his brain works. We put a little pond in our back yard and bought some goldfish for it. The cat just stared at it in amazement like "Wow! Buffet!" Think of them that way.

I am an animal lover i have 3 cats and i used to have a dog, i think its up to the individual what animal they like, we all have different opinons on animals, but please dont just blame cats for eating wildlfe what about foxes, badgers etc nothing is said about them, i used to get upset when my cats used to bring mice and birds home, but unfortunately that is their hunting coming through them, as for cats fouling gardens well all you need to do is put an onion by the flowers or plants or citrus peels and as they dont like the smell they will not foul there, i went outside my front gate this morning and there was a nice pile of dog poo sitting there looking at me, so its not just cats that foul places it is also dogs as well......

sweetie you shouldn't be slated for not liking cats it is all down to personal choice and as long as you are not causing harm to any animal you should be allowed to voice your opinion, its not like your saying i just don't like cats you have kept cats as pets and i feel you have a legitimate reason for not liking them at the moment as a person who has ducks and chickens and have lost a few to other animals i can understand why you feel this way, your not wicked , best of luck with your chicks and ducks,

You dont have to like cats and you obviously dont cause them any harm so there is no problem. I have kept cats in the past but they are annoying when they catch the birds in the garden.

I love cats and I don't think you're wicked just for saying you dislike them.
You might dislike cats, but you do seem to like the Cats section of YA - you probably post on here as often as I do (he he)
