you will ask ur husband everyday, i wonder what he's doing? "he's probably wondering where i am, sitting at home all alone"...then at night you will be sad.
so your going to have to make this vacation worth the heart ache of u missing the boy.
i suggest hiding him in your bag. i went once (only once) w/ out my Churby and i cried every night, sure when your busy it doesn't bother you so much but when its quite...thats when it hits you. oh i hope you do okay. i'm sure he will be fine.

Get a cat shaped doll and take it with you. Put the cat doll on the floor of the bathroom of where you're staying and pretend the doll is your cat.
find a boarding kennel that has a kitty hotel in a separate wing that will spoil your cat while you are away.

I too have seperation anxiety from my boys. I am comforted by the fact that whenever I'm away they are safe with their grandma being even more spoiled then they normally are by me. They get presents and treat when I come back cause I feel so guilty about leaving them. I know my cat doesn't care all that much cause he thinks grandma roped the moon but my dog always makes it obvious that he missed me while slamming me to the ground to give kisses!!!! I also haven't went to the bathroom by myself in ages.

Thanks for the chuckle. Seriously tho, you may find that UR in withdrawal. You will awww every cat you see and try to pet them all. Take a small teddy bear w you for the first couple of nights. Then enjoy the freedom. Two weeks w no one meowing for food, no boxes to clean. Have fun!!
And take a book to the bathroom w you.

I know what you mean. I had my kitten for nearly a year before I actually left it for more then a couple of days.
But don't fret over it- I don't think my cat missed me at all while I was gone. Had too much fun being spoiled by my other family members.

Whenever we go away, our cat-sitter sends us daily anecdotes by email. Reading about how HHF discovered the birds *again*, or TheGTM got rolled from the papasan helps to ease the separation pain a little ;)

I always have a hard time leaving my squad, too. What works for mine is having a human they already trust to look after them in my absence. My oriental short-hair is a total crybaby even when I'm gone only to class! The sooner your baby realizes that you'll be back, the better it'll be for both of you. Best of luck!

We went on vacation in August. I was ok, hubby MISSED his babies. We even had to buy cat toys so we could bring them back a present. :-)
btw, we don't go to the bathroom alone either.

Find a animal day care, ask a friend, or call your vet, lots of times they kennel animals... and of course they are the best ones.
