I found a stray cat and I have been petting it and I feed it. Now I feel like im getting sick. Could I have got something from the cat?

I know that the other answers said you couldn't have gotten it from the cat, but the truth is that you could.
Stray cats that roam around alot could have ticks. and one of these may have bitten you without you knowing. Tick fever can be very very dangerous and starts out with the symptoms of a fever. To be on the safe side you need to see a doctor.

you cant catch anything off your cat unless it is worms.. you may have got it off someone else but your relating it to the cat becuase it is the closes thing in your atmosphere.. if you are keeping the cat, take it to the vet and get it checked and desexed.. also go see a doctor regarding your fever

Cats don't give cat sicknesses to people, and people don't give people illnesses to cats. They're usually species specific.

i highly doubt it,what kind of symptoms are you having? is the cat healthy? i was bitten by a neighbors cat few months ago and it swole my arm up and left knots in my wrist,i had to go to the er.if your going to keep the cat my advice is take him to the vets.
