I have a wild cat in my back yard that has basically taken over my back yard. It sleeps in our lounge chairs and tables and is rather comfortable there. He/she fishes through our thrash bags and sometimes sneaks into our kitchen. You might think that i don't want her here(i think its a girl but thats unconfirmed), but since she moved in the rat population in my back yard has gone down to zero. which is cool. I kind of want to adopt it, i just have no experience with cats (used to have two dogs that died but have no pets now). She wont let me near her. I worry that she needs to be checked out for health issues. she lives in my yard 24/7, but she may belong to one my neighbors, don't know.

should i call pet control or is there a way i can get her to trust me enough to get near her?

When my husband comes home from Iraq, we will be going to visit family. we may be away for 2 weeks. We cannot take our cats with us. We have a friend out here that can come over a couple times a day and feed them and clean their litter and hang out, but it breaks my heart that they will be alone half the time. I can't bear the thought! I love my 2 little guys and i spend every second that im home with them. How do i find a pet sitting service that will take care of my kittys for 1 or 2 weeks? I dont know how to find one. Thanks everyone!

I have 3 cats, all girls, 1 is 3 years old and the others are sisters, both 2 years. My eldest cat has put on alot of weight and it's really unhealthy for her. I wanted to cut down on the food I'm giving her, but I don't want to starve my younger two. Any tips on how I can get her to lose weight and not starve the younger ones?

I am worried about my other cat that has been together with him for 15 years. She seems to purr constantly now and I know that she must feel the loss. I'm trying to spend more time with her. Any suggestions? My daugher wants to buy me a kitten and I don't want another cat to replace him. This was very difficult for me and I see that people who do not have animals don't always understand this. So if you don't have anything nice to say then please don't.

OKay, so i got this cat from my boyfriends sister and its back legs don't really work well and its sort of retarded. The thing is it was really sweet when I first met him, now (i got him today) he's just sitting under my bed hissing at me and not moving. Its really pissing me off that the cat won't just move or eat or something. I'm leaving it alone in the room and sleeping on my couch tonight because it freaks me out. Does anyone know how long it takes for cats to get accustomed to a new environment? cuz i'd like to get in my bed without fear of my eyes getting scratched out.

Hi, I'm new to this whole thing so I'm sorry if I come off a little 'new'.
I have a kitten named Odin-1.5 yrs old, male tabby. The past few days I've noticed a bit of blood on our floor. I waited to see which cat it could be (have 2). My other cat is eating fine, full of energy, completely normal. Odin, not eating, I think he is drinking enough and today I've come to realize it's him.
This morning I found clotted blood on the floor, streaks of blood here and there. I thought to look in the litter for whatever reason and there were 2 big clumbs of blood. The vet couldn't say if it was mixed with fecies or urine because there was more blood then anything.
I brought him to the vet today, he has had this kind of problem before and had the same diagnosis, diarrhea. The only other thing that was abnormal (unless for cats it is normal) his temp was 39C. Odin's eating a strict diet of some can food she gave me and taking tylosin twice/day.
Can diarrhea really be it? Seems weird?

I have found that for some reason people think that breeding purebred cats , for the purpose of showing and enhancing the breed is almost a crime but breeding dogs for the same purpose is ok , I am curious about the ratio please post your opnions = ) .

She hisses and growls at him. I was told by my vet that she was lonely and needed another cat because I work all day. Now I'm not sure if I made the right choice. I do love the new cat and am not to favor one or the other more. Please give me some advice. It's only been 2 days.
Yes, they both are fixed and the new cat is in another room. I really hope this works out.

...And I just noticed the bottle says not to use on kittens under 8 months. I did it because my husband told me to and he's had a lot of cats in his lifetime so I thought he knew what he was talking about. I rinsed her off really well and she's licking her fur now. Will she be alright?

I bought two kittens from a breeder. She seem a bit evasive about knowing things about the kittens personalities,I thought that she would be a good breeder because she is well known through this breeds affiliate programs,I looked up thethe name of her catery on the net and shes listed every where. We agreed that I would pick up the kittens on the 29th,after12:00.I got instructions to her house off of yahoo answers. When I got to her town I called her number, no answer so I just went to her house,I had a hard time finding it but stoped to talk to a neighbor who informed me that she had moved.I went to the house any way.The place was empty of any people, the house was in pretty poor shape and the door was left open.I didnt knock on it but it looked like no one lived there. But what I found that scares me is that this person has a run down trailer on there land and there are at least 5 of these cats shute in this trailer. Its been 6 house since I left a mesage I paid in full. What should I do

She has her front claws. She doesn't scratch furniture or me, but they are so long they catch on the carpet when she walks sometimes.
She doesn't like to be held, much less held down to trim her claws. Maybe sedation?

First off, these behaviors are constant, not just when she's in heat. I know when I spay her she will most likely stop spraying, but the yowling and the scratching I don't know about. I think the problems are stress-related because my mom just brought kitty up here via a LONG road trip, she started yowling then. I tell her to stop but she wont listen unless I either throw something at her or get up in her face and hiss at her and stomp around. I did get her to stop for a while, but then I went into labor and she started up again. Before I left for the hospital, she sprayed me and since then she's sprayed my fiancee about 3, 4 times, my mother-in-law once, the couches more times than I can count, the closet door where her food and litter are kept, the baby's car seat, and our closet door. In the last two weeks, she's shredded our screen door and is now working on the couches. Please help me, my fiancee is PISSED, I am too, and I don't know what to do anymore!
