There is a stray cat that comes to my house alot. I REALLY wnat to take it in but my dad wont let me. (im 18 btw) i could take care of it, we have a big house (also 2 dogs a cat and 2 birds) its so sweet and its REEAALLy skinny, i take cat food out to it everytime its around, my dad thinks its someone on my blocks cat but i dont think it is, and even if it was, who the hell lets a cat get that skinny, and why shouldnt we save it from its "owners". but i still think its homeless. I dont wanna call humane society cuz its an older cat (bout 1-2 years) and it might not get adopted which means theyll kill it, im attached to it (havent given a name tho) well i guess my question is, what do i do, should i try to beg my dad, or let it be?

Ask him if you can 'keep' it as an outside cat. Keep feeding it, and gradually get your dad to warm up to it, little by little. Maybe by the time winter hits, he'll let you bring it in?
BEFORE you bring it in (if that happens)...take it to the vet and have it tested for Feline Leukemia. IF he/she has it, you can't let it around the other cats.

Stray cats and house cats are totally different. Stray cats don't have an owner so they don't know better. They can content rabies from animals. You don't get effected from a house cat's hair if it goes in your mouth. I've done that a lot. Nothing happened. Just make sure the cat doesn't have rabies, or has a disease.

First, call the humane society and see what options there are. Some places do not kill the animals and some do. Ask them to direct you to one that does not. Second, keep feeding it. Also try calling vets to ask for suggestions. If you're 18 you should be moving out with roomates anyway and you can have all the cats you want.

Well, if you don't want to give it to a shelter, then you can find rescues. Animal rescues devote their time, money, and shelter to share with the animals and nurture them back to help. Rescues will NOT put animals to sleep, and will NOT let go of the animal until it has found a good home.
Good job! You're giving the cat food. :) Try your best to convince your dad to let you keep the cat. Try like... community work or something - I don't know how to ting a dad's bell. Also, if you do manage to get the cat, TAKE IT TO THE VET! D:< You never know what diseases the cat has, and what medication it might need.
GOOD LUCK. :)

The first think you need to do is try to catch the cat and bring it to the vets. It might be skinny because it has a disease. This would help to show your dad that you are able to provide care for the cat. Second, if the cat has a disease that could be transmitted to your other cats, you would be helping them also. Third, most transmitted diseases are usually a slow painful death, if it has one, you could make the choice to have it put to sleep.
Good luck.

It is obviously used to being an outdoor cat thus you could treat it as one and just leave food and water out for it. I am sure he knows how to find shelter in bad weather and you can keep his weight up and keep him healthy. Thats seems like the best thing for your father, the cat, and you. I hope this helps you.

well begging might not help, but take care of him. he could be a very good outside cat. i have a few, that love me to death but won't stay inside so i just, set them food outside in the same spot every day (they are fat and eat way too much) i have places set up for them to sleep. when it gets hot out, i make sure they have cool water every day or when ever they run out, when its cold i make sure their bedding is warm and i give them warm milk and soup (i know i shouldn't, but they cold). so far they've been pretty good. my oldest one is about 5 now. who knows maybe he did belong to someone and he didn't like it there. but don't let him be, he trusts you.
well good luck to the both of you!

well if he wont let you keep it inside, you can keep it outside like it has been. just keep feeding it and if it gets cold where you live you can make it a lil box for it to go into. There are outside cats all over the place.

Beg your dad.
If you let him in and dont see
**LOST CAT**
signs for about a week, then he must be stray.
Save the poor kitty cat.
Mine died this summer. :(
