I have a stray cat that I adopted, he showed up at my house and has stayed, he is a male. we was a kitten but is now about 8-12months old. He is not yet fixed. He used to be boxed trained. Lately he will use the littler box to go poo but he will then get out and urinate either on clothes, or towels or paper, or anything left on the floor. I have had to keep him outside because of this. He is a great cat other than this. He loves to be inside so he is not happy with the outside situation as it stands. I have been told that male cats urinate to mark their territory. One person told me that I should have gotten him fixed before he started doing this because now even if he gets fixed he will continue to pee everywhere as it has become a habit. So is this true? Or do you think he may stop this after I get him fixed? Or is this the reason at all?

Ok, U am very worried about my cat who is 9 months old being lonely. I am a teacher and was off for 9 weeks. (I go back to work tomorrow!!)

Kitty got used to me being home with her. (Hubby will NOT let me get another cat to keep her company) She has LOTS of toys, a window perch and a bird feeder with lots of birds to watch during the day. Of course she has clean water and food and a clean liter box.

How hard will it be on kitty with me going back to work?

Thanks

Okay my cat weighs 20 pounds! He is huge! Anyhow he is 8 years old, and my concern is how do I get him to loose the weight, I have 2 cats, one is a kitten and fit. But my male cat is obese. He has also had urninary problems and my vet told be to only feed him friskies special diet (as he would not eat the vets foods). And that is all I have been doing for the past 4 years. But now within 8 months he has gained 8 pounds. The kitten is not to blame we have only had him 2 weeks. I got him for my son, but also hoping it would get our cat off his fat rump! HELP!!!!!!!!

I have a cat thats 3 yrs old and is very small shes full grown and shes really fat. Is there a way i can make a diet food for her like vegables and fruit combined with her food. I was gonna blend the vegables and fruits then mix it in her food is that ok. i dont wanna buy diet food for her because none of my cats lose weight on them the vet said its normal and some brands of diet food they wont eat.

I just had my kitten neutered, well first of all he's caused my oldest cat to go into hiding... and he also won't leave me alone!!! He's driving my nuts!!! He meows all the time, and I've never had a whiner when it came to a cat. And he wants me to hold him all the time. Which I can't, cause then I never have time for the other cat. And when I am holding the other one and the kitten jumps in my lap, then the other one leaves, and I can't stand that cause Galaxy is my baby and he has been for the past 7 years... should I find my kitten a good home? Or will he eventually get the picture as long as I keep ignoring him??

I have never declawed a cat before and hate the idea of doing it but I am trying to solve the problem of our cat that scratches people for no reason. Will this help? Does it make them biters instead?

I need to take my 14 year old cat to the vet this week but he is very AGGRESSIVE! I can't even take him in my arms, he bites and scratches me! He's always been like that, I don't know why! Would there be something I could give him so I can control him???

My cat is experincing rapid weight loss and refuses to eat. My mother thinks it may be FeLV. Can any of you think of anything else it might be? She hasn't eaten for days. I know that you aren't vets and that even if you are you can't give me an actual diganois, but I just wanted some options.

My girlfriend and I decided to take my cat over to her apartment to see how her cat would react to him. At first she just hissed at him and he'd carefully move away from her and avoid her. Then, after a while, as she would softly hiss at him as she watched him move about my girlfriend's apartment. Whenever her cat did this, my cat would stop and look over to her and make a clicking noise with his mouth. Her cat would look at mine as if he was nuts and not hiss anymore. Then, a little later she would softly hiss again and he'd stop, look at her and make that noise again. For the most part, they got along as well as two indoor cats would on a first meeting - meaning they never took any aggressive moves at each other.

So, we were wondering, were our cats communicating to one another? I know it sounds silly, but it really seemed everytime my girlfriend's cat hissed, my cat stopped, explained himself and she let him move on without hissing at him again for a little bit.

Ok, i have a 5 month old female kitten. I've noticed something strange. I have a soft blanket which my friend usually sleeps under, and whenever she's sleeping under it, my kitten wanders onto a flat part (not on my friend) and sleeps/lays down. Just a little bit ago, i found her pawing at it, almost kneading it with her mouth to it. I couldn't tell if she was sucking on it or what. Is she looking for her momma's nipples? Or what? She was also just spayed a few days ago, if that has anything to do with it. Thanks!

She is temporarily staying at a house with three other cats, and has been here for a couple of weeks. I caught her settled IN the box, hanging out there, and there was even a poop buried in the litter at the time. She is a little cat, and deaf, but big in spirit and isn't usually intimidated by the others. I have never seen a cat act this way. She left soon after I saw her, but I don't know if that was just because I disturbed her.

I live in an apartment and right across the way is this 18 kid and his mother who had two cats that I was fine with. Well, now theres eight cats and I'm getting pissed. I wash my car and an hour later I have paws prints all over my hood and windshield. I'm planning on killing the cats, but I figured I wait and listen to some sane people before making my decision. I complained to the office but they don't seem to care. What should I do? Where the hell is Bob Parker when you need him?

My neighbor has a cat that gets in our front entrance occasionally, and i have heard of Feline Leukemia, and I am not sure, if this cat has been checked for it or not, but i was just wondering if my cat could have it. The only contact she has had with the other cat is smelling each other. I know it sounds silly, but I just want to make sure she's okay

We were home all morning and he was fine.. eating, drinking and using the litter. We went to the store, were gone for about an hour and when we got back he did not look good. We searched the house and could not find anything he could have gotten into, and about an hour later he died. He didn't seem to be in pain but he wasn't responsive either.

Hey,
I have owned two cats (brother & sister) for over 2 years. I live with a older man (we're roommates). I work, he's doesn't do a damn thing! I've seen his temper flair in the past.
Anyway, I came home from work yesterday and my male cat is terrified! he stays upstairs...will come down occasionally...but at the sight of my roommate, he goes busting up the stairs and hides under my bed!!
Could someone give me their experience of animals and what might be wrong with my cat?? He's always been a big old spoiled baby, he's nothing like himself!

Please, experience only, no speculations!! Should I call the vet??

thanks
