I took her in to a low cost vet to have her spayed 6 days ago. They knew she was feral and even had a hard time controlling her (she is loveable with us only). The stupid doctor put in sutures that are non dissolvable and now she took off two days ago to follow two of her kittens and has not been back. GREAT, the sutures need to be removed! Now what?? She will probably get a major infection that will kill her.

I have 2 1/2 year old male DMH (domestic medium hair). Lately I've noticed some darkening of the fur around his chin and wonder if it is possible for colors and patterns to become added, deleted, or changed on a cat naturally (and spontaneously).

I recently adopted this stray cat, and we play. He doesnt plays with his cat toys, NO! He rathers wrestle me (well my hand) he grabs my hand and bites me(not hard, doesnt even leaves marks) and then he licks my hand. Some other times I am petting him and he turns around to lick my hand. Or some others he just comes and licks my hand for no apparent reason. Why does he do that? I know my dog licks me because she wants to show her affection, but I don't know about cats.

I have a two year old male cat. Got him when he was three months old. At first I thought his biting was play behaviour or because of this teething, but now I am not so sure anymore.
I tried everyhthing: water shock, lemon, shouting, clapping. My cat still bites me. I give him every love, but although he is pourring he bites when he has enough. He also does not show the affections that cats usually do. His playing behaviour is usually aggressive, and it is possible that he needs a garden ( as he is an indoor cat). Do you know any answers.?Thanks

My cat has always had the tendancy to climb things, hang out on the fridge or even on the kitchen cabinets. But for some reason now, its like he wants to go higher. While on our cabinets he'll want to reach for the ceiling. He does this now on our entertainment center aswell. I thought maybe there was a web or bug or fly or something, but nothing. Hes reaching for ceiling now, whats up with him. Scared he'll fall...

I have a kitten she was bout april 4th and when she goes to the litter box its runny and white. She drinks alot of milk but I didn't know if something could be wrong with her. I also have an older cat born in Feb. that sometimes does the same thing.

I have 3 older cats all over the age 1 that do not. So I was just wondering if this was a normal thing.

I have two outdoor cats that get ticks on their eyelids and ears. I try taking them off myself, but they always seem to wind up back on them. Is there anything I can do to keep them off for good? They dont have a vet, so are there other alternatives to medicines like frontline?

Hi, My cat just gave birth to ten baby kitties! she has three left that are still attached to the placenta but she is very tired, I was just wondering if cutting it and discarding the placenta myself was an okay thing to do or should I just let nature run its course?

Before I get laid out about her having the babies in the first place let me please defend myself by saying that I adopted her from the Dumb Friends League they said she was fixed and they gave me paperwork to that fact, something went wrong somewhere and yes I will be taking her back in after her babies are weened.

Also has anybody ever heard of a cat having that many babies actually survive? Just wondering if she is going to need help with feeding and cleaning and all?

Why do cats arch their backs and do a sideways walk when they're playing with other cats? It's the most halarious thing I've ever seen!

I have two cats, near the same age. The big one (18 lbs) is aggressive toward the little one (8 lbs) when the little one comes home from the vet. I've tried taking them both - that was a disaster! I've tried cat pheromones. I've tried wiping them both with the same towel to make them share the same scent. Nothing helps. The hissing and swatting goes on for days, and because of the size diff, I can't leave them together. Any other ideas? The little one has been spending some time with the vet lately due to some health problems, and may need surgery, so we really need to solve this.

he is a humper. One of the reasons I've always liked cats better than dogs is because they don't hump so why is it that I have to get the cat that humps? He does it when he's kneading the blankets before settling to sleep. I realize he's just feeling really happy, but does he have to be THAT happy? We can't stand it. Does anyone have any ideas how to discourage that behaviour? Thanks.

I know it sounds dumb but my husband is convienced he did. About a week ago I let my cat drink out of my cup (water) then i finished from the same cup. My cat is healthy he has been to the vets office on a regular basis and has all his shots. Well about 2 weeks later I got a massive ear infection. It hurt so bad i had to go to the ER. It ended up my whole ear was infection, inner and outer ear with puss coming out. He says its cause i let my cat drink out of my cup. I say no. Who's right here???

My cat is very old and lately she has been drinking a lot of water, and won't stop meowing until she gets more. Even uses the sink, toilet, and shower to get the water if she needs it. So, needless to say she's drinking more, her litter pan fills pretty fast. What's wrong with her? I'm going to take her to the vet, but I want to know now, whats going on?

I'm planning on fogging my apartment as a last ditch effort to get rid of my cat's little flea problem. Frontline Plus is keeping the fleas off of her, but they're driving me nuts and the sprays/carpet powders have helped, but not eliminated the problem.

All of the foggers I've seen say to leave the dwelling for a few hours, then venthilate it afterwards. If I were to set the foggers up on a Friday evening before I go out of town for the weekend, would leavingmy apartment until Sunday afternoon be safe? (the cat's coming with me)

I know there have got to be some people out there who have done this...Thanks!

I went to the humane society recently and found a really sweet 6 year old cat and I'm interested in adopting her. I'm having a few dilhemmas though and I'm hoping you guys can help me decide whether or not to adopt her.

I live alone in a one bedroom apartment and I work about 25 hours a week. During the school year I'm a full time college student. I worry that she would be home alone and that it would be boring for her.

I also am worried because my dogs who live with my mom sometimes come over and spend the night at my apartment. The last owners of the cat had dogs so she's been around dogs, but I'm worried my dogs and the cat still won't get along.

My other most problematic issue is that I don't have a set-in-stone future. I don't know where I'm going to be living after college or in the next ten years, and I plan on travelling around a bit. Is it hard to move with pets?

Do you think the pro (companionship) outway the cons? I really am having trouble deciding.

Ok so I was all excited, until it got home. Its about 3 months old and it wont stop running around doing stuff and messing with things. I mean its ok but its been doing it constantly. It wont come to us when we call it and if we try to even touch it it runs off and does crazy stuff. It's kinda getting annoying, I wanted a cat because they show affection and rub against you and stuff, but this one wont. Do you guys think I should wait a couple of days or return it?

Are kittens supposed to be like this? We cant get it to stay still.
