I took her in to a low cost vet to have her spayed 6 days ago. They knew she was feral and even had a hard time controlling her (she is loveable with us only). The stupid doctor put in sutures that are non dissolvable and now she took off two days ago to follow two of her kittens and has not been back. GREAT, the sutures need to be removed! Now what?? She will probably get a major infection that will kill her.

I have to commend you for taking her to be spayed and taking care of her. I wouldn't worry too much because cats know where they have it good. As for the sutures, I wouldn't worry too much about that either because she can probably pull them out herself when they begin to tighten and itch. I hope she returns and "Hooray for You" for being so responsible.

She will probably chew most of the sutures off as she begins to heal. Don't worry too much. If you've been feeding her for a year, she will be back. Trap her if you can and keep her secluded until the sutures need to come out.

A) Know where the kittens are? She might have set up shop somewhere to care for them. Check any covered structures.

OR

B) Take out your portable cage/kennel. Place tuna fish, REAL tunafish inside and set outside where you used to see her. If you have a small fan place it just to the side of the opening so the smell comes out. Sit near or inside for about 40 mins. Bet she comes.

OR

C) Nothing you can do but wait.

All you can do is keep your eyes open for her and if and when she shows back up coax her with some tasty tidbits of food to see if you can catch her again to check her stitches....really dumb vet though.....Good luck... hoping for the best possible outcome for you....good to hear you are such a responsible person helping dumped pets..wish there were more people that took their responsibility to their pets more seriously.... Everyone spay and neuter your pets PLEASE...
