I'm planning on fogging my apartment as a last ditch effort to get rid of my cat's little flea problem. Frontline Plus is keeping the fleas off of her, but they're driving me nuts and the sprays/carpet powders have helped, but not eliminated the problem.

All of the foggers I've seen say to leave the dwelling for a few hours, then venthilate it afterwards. If I were to set the foggers up on a Friday evening before I go out of town for the weekend, would leavingmy apartment until Sunday afternoon be safe? (the cat's coming with me)

I know there have got to be some people out there who have done this...Thanks!

Yes, it would be safe but make sure you air out the apartment well before moving back in. There should be no strong smell. Foggers don't get under furniture well, so move it if you can or use a spray underneath that kills hatching eggs. You may need to repeat the whole process in 2-3 weeks as it is difficult to get them all the first time. Continue to use the Frontline on your cat every month, and soon you should be flea-free!

I think it's made by HotShot....I know they come in a green can and you can buy a pack of 3 or 4. The house we bought in Jan. 2007 was formerly owned by some people who weren't as kind as you and left behind their dog's fleas, I fogged liberally as part of the pre-move-in cleaning and we never had a problem. I suggest removing yourself and your animals, setting off the foggers with your furniture still in the apartment that way the fleas don't follow you to the new place.

Read the directions on the fogger package and follow them carefully. Dangerous substances, such as foggers and other insecticides, are safe to use -- WHEN the directions are carefully followed. Contact the manufacturer (contact info's generally right on the package) and ask them. They know best about their product.

cover up the vents with plastic or something. You don't want the fumes to travel through the air ducts and into other people apartments.
