Why do cats arch their backs and do a sideways walk when they're playing with other cats? It's the most halarious thing I've ever seen!

Why do cats do alot of the things they do?
It is just a move they make. I think it makes them feel bigger and braver.

They do it to make themselves look larger and more threatening to their foes. Showing their side to their enemy also makes them look larger then they are.
They do it in play too, though, so it's a way to learn fighting techniques without having to actually get in a fight. It's instinctive, so they do it without thinking about it.
