Cats - March 2007

She sleeps next to me every night and wakes me up right before my alarm. Umm but that could also be because I feed her first thing in the morning.

I took him to the vet as soon as he came home . He didn't find anything wrong.
As far as petting him, he's always being petted and constantly being paid attention to.
He only meows at night, and he sounds so sad and mournful. I cant help that I have to sleep and can't spend time with him. Is there something wrong with him?

My cat is male, short hair, about 4 years old. He eats dry food as he throws up more when he eats canned food--it is like it is too rich. He is not throwing up hair balls. Just eats and gets sick. I worry if he is getting the nutrition he needs.

We're thinking of getting a kitten soon. Our beloved cat of 10 yrs passed away 2 mnths ago, so we are thinking of adopting a new kitty (not to replace our old cat of course, but just because we are in a new apartment and our kids would also like to have one)
What kind of kitten would be best suited to apartment which has a small patio?

At first I thought it was just because he was in heat, but he's been fixed and it's lasted more than 6 months. He ran away for a week, then found his way back home. Could something have happened to him to make him more needy? He sound like he's crying.

My cat had her kittens yesterday morning. She had them in two different spots, and once she was done, we moved them all in a nice comfy basket in the office/bedroom. She has been in there since then. Its now 11:30pm and she has decided to move the kittens one by one to the underneath of our bed? Why is she doing this?

I have three cats. The problem is that all three seem to love drinking the water from my fish tank. They get fresh water daily, so that is not the problem. I have done everything I know to make them stop. Parker the betta fish seems to enjoy nipping them on the nose. Maybe they like flavored water?

So tonight I was out walking and I noticed a cat in someone's driveway. It was sitting very still but VERY alert. I wonder if it was hunting. I am wondering what time of day cats like to hunt for small prey (like mice, rats, birds, etc.).

tonight we had a party and he slept the whole time in the middle of the floor? he didn't move AT ALL!? he let any and everyone pick him up as well? i don't get it! is he sick?? he DID eat and he IS using the litter box and interacting with our other cats... please help i need to make sure my baby is ok!!!
OH! I also checked his gums and tongue- everything is normal and pink? no yellows or whites - just pink? but he's sooooo sleepy and i'm sooo scared

Basically i have a 1 year old male cat, who is white in colour, with 1 small brown patch at the top of his spine, near his head.

Around 3/4 days ago i noticed a cut right across the brown patch, which i just though was caused by fighting with another cat, i left it to heal naturally.

But tonight while he was lying asleep, i seen that the brown patch was missing, in its place was a bloody space, upon closer inspection, it looks like he has bit the whole brown patch off, including the skin, hence the blood.

Since i seen the cut a few days before, he has been licking/biting the patch but didnt notice the damage till tonight.

Any idea why he would do this ??

He is going to be Neutered anyway..but He is spraying everywhere in my house..and has taken to peing on my bed!!!! Please tell that neutering will fix this problem.. and what can I do to get rid of the smell..becouse i use the best carpet cleaners and he still goes to the same places.

I have a problem I found a stray cat an he’s very friendly, but I just noticed that the side of his paw is bleeding, not the nail but a little to the top and to the side. He let me clean it up but now he wont let me touch it. every time my hand gets near it he backs it up and sits on his paw. All the clinics are closed, and its not an emergency, I'm going tomorrow to the clinic but for now I have no idea what to do. Please help me.
