My cat is going to have kittens and I wanted one of them to be a unique name. So what should it be? And please tell me why you chose the name and if you got it from a book or the internet, please tell me about it. (Make sure it's not hard to say!) Thanks!!!

When I decided to get cat I wanted an orange tabby and I wanted to call her marinara (like the sauce), I fell in love instead with an all white cat and called him Ciao. I think it is difficult to name a cat before it has arrived... you will find it much easier to come up with an appropriate name once you get to know the kitten a little bit. good luck!

Generally, its own unique personality will help you name it. One kitten I had was always fighting with his littermates to be first at feeding time. I named him Scrapper. And boy, he would beat up any cat that trespassed on his territory. My Siamese kitten loved ice cream bars and would not stop howling until I gave her some of mine. I named her Mitu (Me too!).
How about Ariel ? (it's male or female) it means lion of God.
Oh wow, that is so weird!! I just saw above somebody thought the same thing I did!! And I've never even heard of That's Life. I guess it's two votes for Ariel so far!

I like the name Hillary. I had a cat named Hillary that was great as a kitten. She was cute and curious. As she got older she became stubborn and her meow got very irritating. She had a relationship with a chubby male cat that would two-time her all over the neighborhood. Sorry story really, but as a kitten Hillary was terrific.

I don't have a specific suggestion for you. I think that "unique" is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder (or listener), but I do suggest that you be careful in your selection. You want the name to be something that's easy for you to say, for your cat to understand, and that you don't mind shouting out loud in case you need to yell to/for your cat (i.e., avoid the embarrassment factor.

Below is a page with other things to consider when naming your new kitten(s).

Good luck!

I did an on line search of baby names for most of my cats. My first kitten was all black and named her Raven. Second all orange persian I name Nickademus we called him Nicky for short. Then we went on to italian names we have Sophia, a Giavanni, Santino. It's always a topic of conversation when we have company that they are not just named Fluffy or something like that. Course our cats are our kids so I prefer human like names. They also have middle names. I like to pick long human names and then a shorter nick name usually just happens naturally. Like Sophia is Mia, Santino is Tino, Giavanni became Geo and often Vanni.

It matters what the kitten's personality is like. You can't really decide until you see the kitten itself.

Although, human name's are nice, they probably won't fit cats. Name it after things you like. Such as "Mimi", "Mooch", "Tigger", or even foreign names, like "Neko" which is "cat" in Japanese.

I've got two cats currently and their names are "Pochacco" and "Zo-Zo". You might want to pick a short name that you can call to mind quickly. Long names, such as "Pochacco" you can abbreviate to "Po" or "Chacco". Good luck!

Spay & Neuter are great names you should seriously keep in mind! My kitten, now a grown spayed cat, was one saved from local animal control extermination. Keep breeding & naming.

You should name your kitten the name of your favorite person but change it so it's unique. Like Ariel could be Ariella (Ar-ie-lla) which also is Hebrew for 'Lioness Of God'. It's up to you though.

Well, depends on how it looks, but my kitten had badly ruffled fur (and still does at one) so we named her Ragamuffin. Other cute names I have heard are:
Rat, Muffin, cupcake, Ninja, Linx, Tiger, and Blossom
Good luck with the kittens!
