I have a 6-7 month old male calico kitten. I know kittens get in a playful aggresive stage but he is constantly harrasing my older female cat and she defenately doesn't want to play with him. I don't know if he's playing either, he bites very hard and twitches his tail. Can training him to stop this behavior work? or is it just a phase.

My cat loves to play fetch!! We throw a little toy and she runs and picks it up with her mouth and brings it right back to us and drops it for us to throw all over again. I thought this a little strange for a cat, but it is one of the qualities I love about my cat! Her name is Buffy. She is a calico.

Should I get a cat? I live in a brand new townhouse; I am renting. I have no loud noisy kids, want an affectionate and sweet and playful companion. Do they smell? What is the price? Are they right for me? What is an alternative pet if not a ferret? A bird? What do you think? Please help me ASAP! =) Also, I am allergic to some types. Ignore this comment if some cats are not hypoallerginic. Are they?

Growung up I had a goat that had an overeating disorder, that he had to be given medication for or he would eat himseldf to death.

We got a kitten (5 months) and he eats. Alot. Not a normal cats intake. Antyhign happens and he runs over to eat. Excietd were home, he just darts over to eat, plays with the other cat, he has to stop and go eat.
Hes gaining alot of weight very fast and i was wondering if there were any known conditions like my goat had? An overeating thing?

I have had many many cats in my life and have done some cat rescue and all that so I know how much is normal for a kitten to eat and this is about double.

Any hints?

What I mean is, how old does the kitten have to be to play. Also, how old does it have to be before you can play with it and the mother won't move it?

Thanks!

in the kitchen, how can you persuade them not too? Also she is always scratching furniture, is there a way i can get her to re-frame from that. I also worry about wires as she tends to try and chew them too she has already chewed through my phone charger wire.

My cat he peed or sparayed somewhere in my room and the smell really sucks. I tried locating it yesterday and discovered he had tinkled on one of my bags. Any one ever had this problem with thier cat. Any help with how i can at least get rid of the smell, its driving m3 crazy! Thanx in advanc3! :):):)

My 8 year old cat fetches, tries to eat anything that I eat, "barks", and loves to go on walks with his harness and leash on! Anyone else have a cat that has a "species complex?"

we got a new kitten on saturday, a cute little grey tabby with honey colored eyes, so we named her honey....anyway the first day she hid all day but then late at night she jumped into our bed to be pet and played with, we played with her because we were happy she wnted to spend time with us. the second day was the same thing, she hid all day then wanted affection late at night 11-2am. she crawled all over us last night and attacked our legs, hands and fingres when we slept..... why does she only seem to want attention late at night and hide all day? she has just started eating and using her litter box last night.....also she met our 14 month old son for the first time this morning, how long should i limit their contact? i gave my son a treat to give her ( she didn't take it) and he touched her head then i figured that was enough contact for now, we actually got honey for him.... we have only had her for less then 48 hours.

I've adopted a 7 year old male cat who needed a new home as his previous owners are moving abroad and can't take him with them. He was quite nervous to begin with but although he is now exploring his new environment, he isn't eating very much. He asks for food but then will only take a few mouthfuls. Is this likely to be due to him being in a new place and how long should I leave it until I get worried and take him to the vet.

My cat sucks on clothing I'm wearing and needs it as she would do when getting milk from her mother, she also purrs all the time when I talk to her. I just wondered if maybe it was because she was taken away from her mother too young (not by us though) She is very small for her age too, she's 2 but only looks about 6 months old, the Vet says she is perfectly heathly though!. Any suggestions would be appreciated!.

I've recently moved home and my cat, who is a house cat, has started to go to the toilet around the house. For the first week of moving in he used his litter tray but at the weekend he stopped and has started trying to pull up the carpets and has even went to the toilet in a plastic bag.

The flat has new carpets throughout and I can't allow this to continue - any suggestions please? He's 10 years old.

My cat keeps running laps around the house, but just lays there when I try to get him to play with his little jingle toy (he normally loves it). He randomly runs away whenever we come near him, and not only do we never hurt him, he never used to do this before. He used to be really good about scratching his scratchy thing, but lately he's been scratching the furnature, which we broke him of a year ago. He seems to be doing it just to be a butt, because he never does it for long and darts away if we try to grab him.
He doesn't appear to be in any sort of pain, and he's still normal and cuddly sometimes.
Could this have to do with the change in seasons? Any ideas for getting him to stop scratching?

Im currently in Germany where I bought a kitten and Im planning on taking her back to the states with me very soon as a carry-on. My only concern is what if she goes to the bathroom in her kennel during the flight. Its an 8 hour flight so Im almost positive she'll have to go...what do I do if she does? And my flight has one stop, is there a way I can let her out of her kennel while Im waiting for my connecting flight?? This probably seems like a silly questions, but Im worried...
