Growung up I had a goat that had an overeating disorder, that he had to be given medication for or he would eat himseldf to death.

We got a kitten (5 months) and he eats. Alot. Not a normal cats intake. Antyhign happens and he runs over to eat. Excietd were home, he just darts over to eat, plays with the other cat, he has to stop and go eat.
Hes gaining alot of weight very fast and i was wondering if there were any known conditions like my goat had? An overeating thing?

I have had many many cats in my life and have done some cat rescue and all that so I know how much is normal for a kitten to eat and this is about double.

Any hints?

No you should not worry. Kittens tend to eat twice as much as adults. Kittens need more nutrition than adults because they need to grow! Don't Worry!!!

Although it's possible your cat may have some condition, something to do with the thyroid, it's more likely that he's just a pig.

Or rather a piglet since he's a kitten.

If he's starting to gain weight, now's the time to nip it in the bud before you have to deal with an obese cat that needs to lose weight. Obesity in cats is very dangerous.

If you're leaving food out for him all day, stop doing that. Choose an amount to feed and split that into at least 2 equal meals, or more if your schedule allows.

that's gonna take it sometime to recover from the top respiration an infection - the medicine will help regardless of the undeniable fact that that's no miracle medical care that's going to take sometime for the kitty to be feeling that's previous self and for the sinuses to empty for the kitten to be waiting to smell that's foodstuff. i might propose getting the two a humidifier or a vaporizer and putting beside the kittens mattress to help sparkling up the sinuses, additionally you are able to close the kitten interior the bathing room once you're taking a tub the steam enables open them up as properly - the kitten won't consume if it could no longer scent that's foodstuff - loss of scent is an urge for foodstuff suppressant with cats.

Ha ha ha ha... looks like you have a food addict in the making. First thing to do is: DO NOT leave food out all day for him (or your other cats) to nibble at constantly during the day. Establish regular feeding times - once in the morning; another one at noon and last in the evening. Second thing you need to do is to measure out the food you give to your cats - follow feeding guidelines on the cat food label. The food addict may protest and meow a lot for food, but you need to be tough and break him of his food addiction now while it is early.

Evidently this cat was overfed before it came to you. It's up to you to regulate his diet now or he will grow up obese. As you have some cat experience you can easily determine what is normal intake. Keep him limited to what is appropriate for his size--if not, he will be fat & subject to the various health risks associated with obesity.

some cats know when they've had enough. and some cats figure that as long as its out, its okay to eat it.

dont keep food out where he can get it. use portions and serve at regular times.
