My cat loves to play fetch!! We throw a little toy and she runs and picks it up with her mouth and brings it right back to us and drops it for us to throw all over again. I thought this a little strange for a cat, but it is one of the qualities I love about my cat! Her name is Buffy. She is a calico.

Yup, my older cat used to play fetch all the time. She would bring back toys you throw, and wait for you to throw it again. Generally, though, she would drop the toy JUST out of reach, so you would have to bend for it. Just so she could let you know she wasn't a dog! I really miss that (she passed away from kidney failure).

I'm trying to teach my kitten to fetch, too. She's not a natural like the older cat was, but she does like to play in water, so I think maybe she's just strange.

Mine does! He is a fanatic for paper toys - in fact, if he is upstairs sleeping and you crumple a piece of paper downstairs, he comes running! Loves to have it thrown and he will chase it and bring it back. He'll also play with it on the stairs. He's actually the 2nd one I've had that plays fetch. He'll even bring the toys to bed (especially at 3:00 am!) and expect us to toss it for him then. He absolutely loves it and enjoys it and it is very good exercise. My cat is a tuxedo long-haired 8 year old and has played fetch since his kittenhood!

Yes, my male cat, Boris played fetch. It was so cute when he first did it, and it helped him out of his depression since this was around the time that our older female cat passed away. We brought in another cat, a female, and she watched the male cat play fetch and soon enough she started doing it as well, even hogging the ball away from poor Boris.

my cat does, its funny, now our kitten plays fetch because she has been watching the older cat, oh sometimes my cat if she doesn't want to bring the toy back to you, meaning she is done playing, she will carry it to her water bowl and drop it in her water.

My cat does put she doesn't bring her toy back. You have to about rip out her teeth to get the toy out of her mouth. I have a cat that acts like a dog and a dog that acts like a cat. My cat tries to bark, and my dog stands on his hind legs and tries to catch a peice of string. And he always hangs around all the cats. I have weird animals. All my dogs eats cat food and my cat eats sushi - my cat is very spoiled she doesn't eat anything from a bag or can, she always eats with me. And my dogs eats Fancy Feast, too. But all my animals loves to rid in stollers and likes to be dressed up in clothes. I dressed up my Beagle up as Elvis Presley on Halloween and I dressed up my Dashound as Tina Turner. My Golden Retriever has a crush on JoJo the singer! The good times, I think I would die if my babies (the animals) did!
