My cat will soon be a first-time-mom and I am worried about her delievery. Will I need to help her? She can't have them inside or on our screened in porch(my husband won't allow it). Do I need to let her handle it herself?? HELP!!! I'VE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE!!

Congratulations!. Just let her alone as she ll need to stay alone before delivery thats why she ll choose very calm and lonely place...After delivery don't try to touch kittens as she ll be very sensitive towards them...Evrything ll be ok dont worry

First of all tell your husband to grow up. She should be able to handle the delivery and everything that happens on her own. Remember to not pick up the kittens or less you have to. She will be very protective towards them for many weeks. Also I might suggest if your husband will not give in is there anyone you know that would be willing to take your cat and the kittens until the kittens are ready for their new homes. Outside is no place for a cat, let alone when she has kittens to care for. Good luck.

.agreed, your husband needs an attitude adjustment, if she has them outside she will go under a house or the like and you wont see her very often, they can usually handle things on their own but most likely since she is outside most of them will get eaten by tom cats and they will all be wild. they will also be open to diseases, infections, etc. if she were to have them inside its a good idea to stay close, towards the end they can get fatigued and need assistance tearing the sacks open around the face. the least he could do is let the cat on the porch!
