My children and I found a cat at a shelter that we would like to adopt. However, they just had him tested and he came back positive for feline leukemia. The cat is only 1 year old now. Any suggestions... or is this just a kitty that we should pass on?

I had her given to me. She howls to go out at night. She howls all night long. I want her to go out during the day as I'm in work during day.
i've been told to keep her in for a couple of weeks.
She has been done and had injections etc.

When should I let her out during day.
I have been off work these last few weeks.

Well i got a kitten as some of you might know and was told it was a boy, Last night i was playing with him and found that he has started to grow Nipples? there are about 6 in total so does this mean he is really a she??

my cat is 11 years old and never had kittens. is it too late? she's in heat like ALL the time. i feel bad for her. and when we tried to set her up with another cat, she attacked him. any suggestions? also, is it possible to atificially inseminate a cat?

My new kitten is sooooo sweet I love her but when it is time to go to bed she is full of energy! I bring her to the bedroom and she walks all over my head licks my face and attacks my feet! I can't get her to settle down but I want to train her to sleep with me through the night like my other cat does....oh also she keeps waking me up at 6:00AM!!!! RRRRRrrrrrggg!

i have 2 cats. 1 is 7 yrs. old and sleeps all the time. she is slightly overweight, but doesn't eat alot, what can i do to make her lose weight? The other cat is about 5, and is really skinny. the vet said that its prolly cus she's in heat alot. what can i feed her that will make her gain weight?

Once I have prepared my laundry bag Billy likes to stick his head in and grab the first white sock he can find. He grabs it and starts meowing in this deep strange manner (like a cat in heat would sound). Then he jumps over the safety gate with the sock in his mouth, walks by the kitchen, drops it, keeps meowing while he's staring at it. What does this mean?? What is he doing?

One moment she wants your attention, the next she wants you to stay away. I cn never hold her for long or she jumps off?

Then there is my boyfriend who has a jealous problem with the bond that me and my cat have. she sometimes will jump on my lap purring and put her face against my neck, and he gets jealious and tries to distract her so she jumps off. Should i be worried???

My cat just had kittens and I am planning on keeping one of them.
I want the cat that I keep to be very loving and want to be held and pet.
So, should I begin to hold it and cuddle with it already if it was just recently born (about a week ago)
would doing that make the cat more loving and less skidesh and distant when it grows up?

I have a 2 years old Persian who is suffering with black gunk in his ears. I have no clue what this nastiness is, but it is becoming very aggrivating to him and I think it is impairing his hearing. Out of nowhere he will jerk up to scratch and a when he shakes his head black crumbles come out. I have gently tried to get some out with a Q-tip, but he acts as if it is excrutiating and it is stuck like a scab would be. What is this and how do I cure it?

the pet shop i bought my hamsters told me that i should not put any water in its cage coz they can take the water they need from the vegetable i should put for them to eat.... is that true???

i have two hamsters one male and one female is it ok or should i get another two for them to have company with the same sex??

if i put for them too much food will they over eat and die or will they eat only what they need??

I awoke to ANOTHER dead kitten from the litter of 4 again today. And ironically, it was the BIGGEST of the four when they were first born. I have no idea what is going on. It was eating fine yesterday, and then BAM it's dead this morning. There is only 1 left. I am very upset that THREE have died without any previous warning.

Help please!

In almost 40 years of having cats I never believed this until I got my new kitten from the ASPCA. He has always slept on my face! Now that he's 8 months old and weighs 8.5 lbs, I wake up gagging all of the time having to push him off of my face to breath. If he did that to an infant, he would smother it! What have you experienced, know about and believe?

My cat is peeing all over the place. This is a new thing for my 8yr old fixed female cat. At first I thought she could have just seen another cat outside but there are no new cats in the area. Nothing has changed in our feeding her its the same kind of food as usual and she has drinken the same amount of water every day. There is always someone home with her the most she is alone buy her self is about 4 hours but its always been that way since she was a kitten...I'm just worried because of this whole cat food recal. But she has not been eating the kind of food that was recaled and if it was I would figure she would show signs of kidney failure alot sooner then this. I want to call the vet but my boyfriend says it just because she is mad for some reason and she will be fine in a few days. I just don't know what to do.
