I bought a female Shih-Tzu, she goes by Daisy. I am needing a full name that so I can finish filling out the CKC registration form. I am having trouble picking out another name that goes with Daisy. Any suggestions?

Kitten will be a female, either grey with a white patch, or a tabby looking one. i want unique names, not names that are used over and over again. thanks.

....as a hobby, and wanted to know how to go about it. I don't want to just get a female cat, let her out and get her sh@gged by every Tom in town, but I'd like to have a male and a female for breeding purposes in my own home. I would only breed once, maybe twice at the most, and I would keep any kittens that my immediate family do not have, so they would not be sold, and would go with only people who I know very well.

Before I get shot down in flames, I am in a good financial position, I can afford to take care of all cats that I have, and have provided a good home for all of my pets, so don't start lecturing about animal shelters and euthanised cats etc, cos that simply doesn't apply to me.

Is it best to buy a male and female kitten, or would it be best to get an older male/female etc? And can you plan the mating, or is it just likely to happen if a male and a female are in the same house?

I'm about to have a baby in a couple of weeks and I wanted to get the cat used to not being allowed in the bedroom at night for saftey purposes but he is tearing up the carpet around the closed door. What can I do to stop this behavior?

The kittens are 6 days old, and they've been sneezing. There doesn't seem to be any sign of a flu, their mother was also sneezing without a fever and was given antibiotics. The vet suggested I give the kittens vitamin C drops for human babies, but I'd like a second opinion...

This morning I saw a tape worm hanging out of my 3 yr old cats rear end. I'm pretty sure I know what kind of tape worm it is (some are described as looking like grains of rice, this is longer, gross... :( I know there's differrnt types so can I buy over the counter medicine for her and if so, what would you suggest because right now, I can't pay a vet what they're asking. I feel terrible about it but I just can't right now.
Thanks for any help!

Hi all this may sound strange but my cat loves taking baths.
Whenever i get out his cat shampoo he know's what i'm grabbing and knows it means he's about to take a bath.
As soon as i grab the shampoo he hurries over to the sink where he takes his baths and meows me to hurry up and grab a towel.

Then i put him in the sink and he lounges awaiting for the faucet to turn on, never cries the only thing he dislikes is when i wash his face in which i make sure to be careful and not get anything in his eyes.
He loves the water sprayer and when i massage the cat shampoo.
He also dislikes the blow dryer lol.
So is my cat strange or are there other cats that enjoy taking baths.
people who know me thinks it's strange that the only thing he dislikes is the blowdrying and face washing part.
Unless it's because he loves to be clean because he's a persian cat and has lots of furr that can get dirty easily but it seems much more than wanting to be clean it looks like he really enjoys it.

We have a 7 and a half week old kitten and everytime i lay down to give her fuss, she comes near my face and presses her nose and tries to get up my nose.

She also does the same thing with my mouth, as if to say 'let me get in', does anybody know why she's doing this?

thanks for answers in advance :)

My cat recently caught ear mites (cas we switched his flea medicine) & we treated him w/ Revolution as the vet prescribed. He hasn't really seemed to have an appetite since all this started. We treated him Friday, it's now Wed. and he's still not eating that much. Plus he's still shaking his head like his ears are still bothering him. I've been cleaning his ears everyday w/ cotton balls & applying ointment. When will he fully recover from the mites?? Can we help speed this along?

Does she resent me for putting her through that?

Ok, so I went to pick up her from the vet and she didnt look happy to see me at all, then I took her home and she didnt let me stroke her either.
She didnt mioaw much, but I guess thats normal, but she didnt want to sleep under the duvet with me like she normally does and I thought she would be absolutley knackered and dying for a sleep, but she was up all night again, jumping on things and being naughty, and again this morning she barely noticed me.

I feel bad enough, because she's only 9 months and will never have kids now.I know its not the same as for humans, but still.

Anyway, is this normal?

Thanks.

Today we took our 15yr old cat to the vet and the vet told us he has two abcessed teeth. They would have to put him under to to what they do to fix it, we are worried since he is so old that he may not make it and not wake up. But at the same time we want him to get his teeth fixed because of the pain ect. Should I be worried about this??

I need to move my cats. Can anyone give me an educated opinion if I should put them in two cat carriers or put them in one big carrier together? They do get along and like to kitty pile with each other at home. What would be more comforting for them?

declawing a cat is a personal choice an is legal in the USA and people asking questions not pertaining to peoples opinons about declawing thier cat should keep their opinions to themself. i mean really do you always go out of your way when you get an oportunity to make someones elses day worse? have you never done anything that anyone else would disagree with? the point is nobody asked you your opinion about how bad you think declawing is!

I have a very friendly three-year old neutered male cat that I would like to get into a program for visiting seniors and hospital patients (pet therapy). Has anyone done something similar with their cat? How do you train / prepare the cat?

The program I am considering screens the pets, but I would like to work on his behavior before we apply. He occasionally bites when excited, but is otherwise pretty good.
