This morning I saw a tape worm hanging out of my 3 yr old cats rear end. I'm pretty sure I know what kind of tape worm it is (some are described as looking like grains of rice, this is longer, gross... :( I know there's differrnt types so can I buy over the counter medicine for her and if so, what would you suggest because right now, I can't pay a vet what they're asking. I feel terrible about it but I just can't right now.
Thanks for any help!

Can you find Drontal in a pet store or over the internet or sth? It is the most effective for all sorts of worms.

Tape worms look like grains of rice, because they break off in segments.
Frankly if it's a long worm I doubt that it's a tape worm, might be a flat worm.

OTC wormer usually isn't very effective.

I know you said you don't have the money right now, but please call your vets office tell them you're cat is passing worms and ask if they could set up some kind of payment arragements.

That way you'll be sure exactly what kind of worm it is, and you'll get the right medication in the right dosage for the age and weight of your cat.

to behonest over the counter stuff is rubbish, not what you wanted to hear i know but if you go to www.bestpetpharmacy.co.uk you can get the right products ( stuff the vets would sell you ) for a fraction of the price and delivery is very quick. good luck. x
