Switch to Frontline (check with your vet - some say you can apply this 2 weeks after Advantage) for a while. Throw out your sweeper bags after each use. Wash all pet bedding and linens that they have come into contact with (and dry in a hot dryer). Consider getting a carpet shampooer. You can bathe the pets in simple Dawn dishwashing liquid before you apply the Frontline (do this 24 hours in advance - they must be totally dry for Frontline). This stuns the fleas (and kills some). You can then comb (with a flea or lice comb) the stunned fleas out and wash them down the drain. If your pets go outside, cover the outside area with Sevin dust (you can get it at most garden centers - it's a poison dust that will kill fleas - among other things). I also put some Sevin under and behind my couch (where the pets don't go).

Your pets may have flea allergies. This can leave them scratching and biting for weeks after the fleas are gone. Also, make sure no one is bringing in new fleas from another source outside our home. Do NOT use over the counter flea products on your pets. They are dangerous.

Good luck! :)

Make sure you throw out the vacuum bag after each time you vacuum. The fleas and eggs can survive in there and get back out into your carpet.

It's also likely that your pets are picking them up outside, which means the Advantage isn't working. Try a different brand.

It takes awhile for all the fleas to die. Sounds like you were over run with them. They have laid eggs in the carpets and as the new ones hatch before they die.
If you had someone come out and treat after 2 weeks do it again if you see no results.Never herd of advantage 55.... Try front line or advantax....

Go to the vets and ask for the flea spray for the floors in the house, you get strong flea stuff for their necks and then their's the flea collars as well. Make sure to spray near the heaters as thats where fleas like best.

How stubborn these fleas are.!!

I used advocate and I used a good Fleas Shampoo and bath them every 2 or 3 days for a few weeks until you get rid of the fleas.

Good Luck.!!!

Hi, Have you tried Frontline for dog's and cat's you can get pipettes for your animals along with a really good spray. If you go to Hyperdrug.com it is a lot cheaper than you can get it at the vets.

Use Frontline+ Pet Products!!!! You cannot kill them all.... There will always be a problem with them, but if you use Frontline+ it will at least protect your Pets!!!!!! Did you treat their bedding? You didn't mention that you did......
