Eep, if being intact is making her skinny, get her spayed for sure! I wouldn't even worry about food with her (unless she isn't eating) until that is done.

As for the overweight one - my speciality. Cats and dogs don't necessarily have to eat a lot to gain weight, tho of course it is the most common cause. It's often more to do with the type of food being fed than the quantity. I would advise getting a weight-control food - preferably from the vet, but there are some available in petshops that are OK-ish. The advantage of weight control foods is that they are high in fibre, so the animal can lose weight without going hungry. Whatever food you get, follow the feeding guidelines on the packet, and feed for the target weight. Cats should weigh 3.5-4.5kg.

Why haven't you spayed your cat that's in heat? Going into heat brings ALOT of stress on the cat AND an unspayed cat has a MUCH greater chance of getting cancer later in life.

There is a HUGE pet overpopulation problem nowadays, and shelters are KILLING many of the cats and kittens, dogs and puppies in the shelters because there are NOT enough resopnsible loving homes for them all. Spaying and Neutering our pets will help bring the numbers of those innocent beings who are killed at animal shelters.

Your vet would be the BEST source of information about how to feed your cats, what to feed them, and how often. It is not a good idea to leave food out for them all day, and some cat foods are better than others as far as making the cat feel full AND giving the cat the nutrients it really needs.

PS -- Most Cats sleep ALOT.

Well the first thing to do about the skinny cat is to make sure that you get her spayed. That will stop her from losing so much weight.

For the other cat I would limit her to a certain amount of food for each day. Also try to keep her away from the other cat's food. Maybe you should also give her some kind of special lite food, for example such as Science Diet Light.

If you're feeding dry food:

For the little pork cutlet, I recommend switching her to canned food. Dry food is chock full of carbs which can lead to obesity, diabetes, dehydration, etc.

If you choose a good one, she can eat pretty much a whole can per day and still lose weight at a safe pace. A can being about 6 oz.

I would actually switch both of them.

As for getting the other to gain weight, that's not a problem I've had to deal with so I'll have to refrain from making any "logical" suggestions.

Purina Chow makes a cat food for indoor cats so they can maintain a healthy weight and still be active. I would put both of your cats on this food and only feed them 2 times a day. If you feed them both at the same time; start with 4 cups of food for the entire day for both (not per cat)

Get toys to play with your fat cat and take it to the vet to make sure she healthy first. With the skinney cat, since you've already taken her to the vet, have her spayed, then she won't go into heat anymore. Being skinney might be genetic or part of her breed, but if the vet says she's healthy that's all you need to know. (Could be the fat cat is eating all the food?)

Feed the fat one lean food, or stuff that is natural..science diet may have some sort of light food.

For the skinny one feed her canned food in addition to her dry food & for goodness sakes get her spayed!! She will gain weight then & she will live longer if spayed.

Not sure how it will work out tryna feed them different foods, but good luck! :o)
