In the past week my cat has run away twice, once for one day and the second time was for two and a half days. Both times I had to go and search for him, but the second time he was not in good shape at all. He was skinny dirty and he managed to rip one of his claws out. He is around one year old and has not been neutered (I have an appointment to get him neudered on 1/14) I know he will calm down once he is neudered, but I am going to have to keep him inside for 5 days. I got him the soonest appointment at the vet as i could. Does anyone have any advise? Is there anything I can give him to calm him down untill he gets neudered, he will run around the house clawing at everything and making as much noise as possible to try and get me to let him out. Any advise will help. Thanks.

At a texas A and M University researchers have colned cattle, pigs, and goats. They are moving on to House pets. Genetic tests comfirm that the clalico kitten is a gentic copy of the original calico cell donor cat.

Question1 Interestingly the Kitten does not have the same coloring as the gentic parent... Why?

Bitter Apple does NOT work. I have tried it already. He chews a little bit at a time, gets used to the flavor, and then continues to chew. He's chewed through internet cables, speaker wires, and my phone charger wire (while it's plugged in). He also scratches his claws on the couch, carpet, and rugs- no matter what we try!

Any suggestions?

We had this stray cat hanging around our house for some time, my mom has been feeding it since, well, it was born. Mom finally felt sorry for it, out in the cold, (I live in Ontario where it has been -30 degrees celcius on average) and finally adopted it, we can't think of a good name though. It is a short-haired taby that has a lot of white and very light brown fur, aqua coloured eyes. And has the nicest personality you can imagine, it, of course, is an unfixed male and loves its belly rubbed which is unusual for an unfixed male. It will lick you, if you let it, and every time we try to train it to use the sandbox, it just lays in it like "I'll sleep here, only because you wish me to". I've never seen a cat like it, we just can't think of a good name. Any suggestions???

Every time I try to pet its head it tries to bite my hand.
I'm not sure if that's a normal thing.. But I got this cat about 3 or 4 days ago. So what do I do about it ? How often do I have to take it a shower?

I have a cat who's never been out of the house at all, except for Vet checkups when she's always in her kennel. If she ever gets out by accident, and wanders too far from the house out of curiosity, will she know where we live when she's done exploring and wants to come home?

Ok it's not a huge issue, but I seriously wonder if he's gone crazy, I've owned Henry for almost 4 years and he's older (and yes he's neutered) so all he did was lie around and sleep, he would only play once in a while, he was basically a fat lazy cat, but within the last week or so he's gone nuts, I'm talking racing back and forth, jumping on furniture (he's declawed so I don't mind) launching himself off of furniture, and he meows really loud now for no reason (before he only meowed when is his food dish was empty)he's nuts, it's like he's a kitten again, the only thing i've changed was his food, I bought Purina Cat Chow- Vitality Formula, can food make that huge of a change in his life? Like I said it's not a big deal 'cause it's nice to see him act like a kitten but it's just kinda odd, wondering what you guys think?

I've heard numerous times that torties have one of the best personlities of any breed. Mine is SO funny. She's almost 7 and she runs around like a kitten. She's very active, and crazy with her vocal range. She "talks" all the time! And I swear she smiles at me when she's totally happy and content. Anyone else have any similar experiences?

My cat appears to have lost some hair around both eyes, but I think her eyelids are swollen. She's been like this for about 3 weeks. The Vet has seen her but can't figure out why... Any ideas?
The cat is healhty otherwise, not scratching or rubbing eyes, eyes seem fine, not irritated, nothing unusual except the way her eylids look.

Thank you to all. My cat needed to go to the Vet, Had a very high fever, needed to be knocked out and a drain placed in his belly. I want to thank you all for being supportive and giving me good advice. Our furry children are part of whom we are and we must always take care of them. Thanks again to all of you you helped me make the decision to take him to the vet

I'm thinking about having an ear-tag custom-made for my cat, and have my phone number engraved on it. It would be like a little stud made of surgical steel. Has anyone tried this? Any other ideas?
My cat won't accept a collar and although she's chipped, I want a more hands-on way of id for her.
Thoughts are welcome.

He will do this to any wall (I've moved a few places), I thought maybe he sensed the electrical wires or something... but I think he's just weird... this is the same cat that will lick plastic bags, suck/chew on my hair, and meow wildly while I'm in the shower like someones killing me lol.

My cat is an orange/golden tabby cat. He is extremely patient and loves to sit next to me when I'm home. His name is Tiggy Wiggy. A bunch of people have told me he has a weird name. So my question is: is my cat's name weird?

I used to have three cats that were indoor/outdoor cats. We would bring them in at night so they wouldn't go off too far. I had a male cat named Howie who was eight months old, Howie's sister named Chloe, and a three year old male named Petey. Howie and Petey were so nice, but Chloe was scared of everything and stayed outside at night, too. Anyways, one day we called them back in and only Petey came back. I hoped Howie would come back the next morning, but he didn't. Then a week later Petey disappeared. Now only Chloe is left. She's gotten more tame, but still likes to stay outside with the stray cats. Howie and Petey were both male cats, and we live in a neighborhood with tons of cats. Do you think either of them will ever return home?

Sorry for typing so much.
