Rather than step into his litter box, that stays clean because I know how picky cats are, he'll crap on my bathroom rugs with his litter box not a foot away from him. Is it a territorial thing? Would he stop if I bought new rugs? I'd have already thrown his butt outside, but he's declawed. I hate having to keep my bathroom rugs folded over all the time because of the little stinker.

My cat is currently convalesing from an operation, and is being kept indoors to help prevent infection. i have got a litter tray for him to use, but as yet he has not been to the toilet, (hes still a bit dopey!) just after some tips, that would encourage him to use litter tray when hes ready as he normaly does his buisness outside.

Can cats sense the heat on my stove when I'm cooking? It makes me nervous. I've tried the water bottle, sticky paws among other techniques to no avail. They havent done it when its hot but that may just be because i 'm very watchful when i cook.

My cat likes to sit on the windowsill in the dining room. Our neighbours cat sits on the other side and she starts growling really deeply. Sometimes they start scratching at the window and spitting. They're both girls. Help?!?

I have hear stories about cats jumping off balconies to try and catch birds and other things and I am worried my cat might try the same. On the other hand, he never gets to go outside and there are very high (about 4.5 feet) solid walls that run around the balcony. I am sure he can jump up there, but would he jump off?

She was left behind to fend for herself in a trailer park by the previous owners. A neighbor living in the park kept putting out food for her and whenever I would walk by the poor thing would come to me as if saying, please give me a home. so the lady told me what happened to her and suggested I take her as she didnt want any cats and the poor thing was freezing out in the cold. I took her for a complete check up which was good and she has adjusted well to her new home. the lady said she has been calling her Pep or Peps. I was just wondering if that name has some sort of meaning to it.

cause him any damage. We've been doing it since he was a kitten, 4 years plus and he LOVES it, especially when we smack him hard!

And please do not misinterpret this as animal abuse, it is something he likes, we are not hurting him.

I THINK MY CAT HAS RABIES

2007-02-11 04:35:58 · 14 answers · asked by Judas Rabbi 1

My cat, Belle, died this morning from what the veternarian said may have been a heart attack. She was a petite cat, not at all overweight, very graceful and sweet. I heard her scream, she rolled heavily down the stairs. I thought she had tripped and broke her leg but there was no evidence of a break. I cannot believe that this could happen to a healthy cat. Has anyone else experienced this. My young sister (47) is in the last stages of colon cancer and I found myself having more of a reaction to losing Belle than I have been able to express about my sister. Belle did not show any obvious signs of being distressed. She did have a problem with fleas, even though all of our cats are indoors. We had never had fleas before. She also had last summer what may have been a kidney stone, and a tape worm from the flea situation. She was treated for all of these things. We have started using Advantage and I wonder if this harmed her. I am just numb now but became hysterical when she died

I took the mother to the vet and dropped her off. When I brought her back to the house, her daughter hissed at her and did not want to even see her. She has been hiding in the bedroom, barely eaten or drunk water. Everytime her mother goes by, she hisses and her hairs stand up. I have heard this is normal due to the new scent the mother has. Will this ever go away? Is there anything I can do to make it the little one accept her mother again? I'm afraid they will get into a fight.

then how can you put it through so much pain and suffering like declawing when there are humane alternatives to it?
And how can you say you love them and allow them to roam when you know there are many dangers outside of your home that you cannot protect them from? Even in the country cats have predators like coyotes to deal with.
It is my opinion that you should be ashamed to admit to any of these crimes. There is no excuse for irresponsibility!

My 8 week old kitten is very good at using her litter tray, but when she's not actually using it, she likes to roll about in it and fling the litter all over the place - I don't want to put her off using the tray by chastising her, but it's a bit of a pain! I keep the tray very clean, and she hasn't rolled in it when it's dirty (thank goodness) but only when it's clean. Any ideas?
