If you are quite young (which I think you might be) then go to a vet's or animal shelter on work experience in Year 10.

Then get 4 or 5 GCSE's including Maths and English at Grade C and do an Animal Care course at a college. You could then try to train as a Vet Nurse.

Speak to the careers adviser at school - that's what they are for!

You sound like what the world needs more of, an animal lovers. There are a number of ways to get started. First, try volunteering at the SPCA, they know vets who use vet assistants that train as they go. For certified Vet Techs, a one year & two yr course is availble

Look in the Yellow Pages and call the vets in your city and ask if you can volunteer in their office.

As a volunteer, you will NOT get paid. You will work for free.

Good luck, the animals are lucky to have you!
