Yes. Your cat needs to be neutered. Letting your cat outside is very dangerous for him. He could get hurt or killed.

I had a male cat that I loved. His name was Rama. He was a very sweet boy cat. When he became a true Tom Cat, I made a big mistake. Instead of taking him to get neutered, I just started letting him go outside.

One time he did not come back for three days. When he did come back, he was hurt pretty badly. He had been hit by a car and dragged himself home. I nursed him back to health and he was okay after a few weeks. So what did I do? I was very stupid and when he started crying to go out, I let him out!!!

A few weeks later, he did not show up again. I found him out on the street, dead. I took him to a vet for an autopsy. The cause of death was not being hit by a car. He had found some anti-freeze leaking from a car and had drunk it because it has such a sweet taste to it. Rama always did love sweets.

I cried and cried over that cat. It was totally my fault. I learned my lesson too late to save Rama.

Tell your parents that there are so many low-cost spay neuter programs all over the country. I am sure they could find one for your cat. Show them this story. I know they don't want your heart to be broken the way mine was.

All cats should be spayed/neutered. Your cat is exhibiting signs of being in heat, which will subside once he is neutered. I understand that you are not in a situation to do this on your own. Perhaps you could be a little proactive and call around for pricing. Check with your local humane society and see what they charge for this. Maybe if you do all the investigative work and present this to your father, he will be more willing to help you out.

absolutely, not just for his safety, but to make sure that there are not countless unwanted kittens that dont have homes and will either be strays the rest of their lives or end up being euthanized by animal shelters. if you cant afford it or are concerned talk to your local ASPCA they have programs to help with cost and can make sure you know risks and gains. hope this helps. PS, if your father is the one who doesnt want to get him neutered, crunch some numbers in front of him. A female cat will average five kittens per litter and five litters per year. that twenty five kittens a year! add in the average lifespan for an unspayed female(10 years) that equals 250 kittens on average. most of those kittens are either strays or end up in shelters. it not a pretty picture.

I feel for you and...YES...it should. Not only will this stop any unwanted litters of kittens but it is also best for his health.
Him wanting to be outside and not fixed means that as a boy cat, he's going to want all the girls for himself and that means cat fights!!! He will live a longer and happier life if he gets fixed. Also, male cats not fixed will sooner or later start "spraying" on things in the house. He will mark his territory by spraying pee on things and it gets VERY stinky and the smell never comes out or goes away.

yes, all male cats need to be neutered and all female cats need to be spayed. It makes them better pets and keeps them healthy. But by you being only 11 you may have a hard time convincing your parents.

I would get the cat neutered but I would not let him out. He wants out because the other cats are comming around. You do not know what sickness these other cats have that your cat can catch also other aniamals can harm him.

For the health & long life of your cat YES! It also cuts down on the population of unwanted strays. It will not hinder his ability to defend himself and he will stay closer to home

Yes you should get him done, not only is it better for his health but he wont go on walkabouts, he would be more likely to just hang around the house and not go far.
