Cats - February 2007

I swear, it's like he's on premium dope. I thought he might be a bit silly on the stuff, but it's like he's been infected by Barry White. He's in love with everything , and man is he happy!!!!!! Is this normal? Do other cats have different reactions? Like what? It's really quiet interesting!

what i wanted to know is i have had my cat for 1 month and 3/4. when i got her her nipples were large and her belly seemed firm. lately she has been having diarrhea and has been lazy and hardly eat. is she going to have her kittens soon. also her babies are very active. like humans do they slow down before she gives birth to them. any other symptoms that are noticable when shes going to give birth

She is a slender, long legged blue point with an attitude. She's also very frisky and active, extremely curious (gets into everything) and aloof. When she cuddles up beside me and allows me to pet her, she speaks with little chirps and chortles. She reminds me of an angel with a little bit of devil mixed in! Does anyone know of a suitable name? Her eyes are huge, round blue crystals and she is ivory with light blue-grey siamese points.

I adopted an adult cat. My brother has two cats and said that even though they are indoors, they can still get fleas so he uses Advantage. I don't have a dog or any other pets, is it true that I need to still treat him just in case?

i have a cat and he's about 3 yrs old and he nurses on my shirt and gets his paws and looks like he's massageing me, i dont know if he was taken away from his mom when he was young and thinks i'm his mom (i'm only 12) i love it when he does it though cause it relaxes me and him! he has water and all so hes not thirsty or anything like that, he might just be doing it for comfort or it might be a habbit cause he's done it all his life!

My cat is soon going to have her kittens. This is the first time we will have new-born kittens and we are not sure how to take care of them. When do we start feeding them? When she would train them to use a kitty litter box? Are we allowed to touch them when they are born? This is just the main stuff I need. If you could give me extra advice that would be great but you don't have to. Thanks! :-)

after eating, he scratches the floor next to his food, after a few minutes he begins to scratch the door , then back over to the food and finally scracthes the dustbin always in the same order and this routine lasts for around 6-7 mins

Sometimes she seems to have a hard time going to the bathroom and will go on the floor instead....when i clean it up I can tell it's very hard, so I imagine it's uncomfortable. It's not always like that, just occasionaly. She will NOT eat hairball medicine. I have hairball treats and food to help with hair digestion, but is there something more I can give her? That also wont give her diarhhea (sp, i know..) since this isnt a constant issue?

okay i must be a retard or something but my cat is about 6 months now and umm well i can't tell if it's a boy or not. I looked checked and it looks like balls but well hell it's just a circle and doesn't look like a nut sack. I have one more question, i notice my cat has been meowing alot daily very loud and i'm not sure whats going on, if it's a she i guess she must be in heat.

i'm lost i say it's a boy but everyone keeps saying it's a girl.

Whenever I open the backdoor to take the trash out of something, my cat will wait till I comeback to open the door and she will dart out! She is mostly indoors all the time, but when she runs out she will just hide everywhere. She likes to be out in the rain, too. Our fences our pretty short and im sure she could hop over, but she hasnt. Actually I just let her in from her two hour adventure out side in the rain. (we forgot about her :o) Why does he do this?

There is a chance my dog has fleas. It is very, very cold. I'd like to get a "flea bomb"......but this means turning pilot light off .. pipes would freeze, any suggestions???????

My cat and I have a problem : She wants to play all the time and I don't. She is a 1 and a half year old with kitten-like behavior, needs tons of play time, ambushes feet, jumps up and down all over the house, races me around the house like a little horse, etc. I know the best way to go is to get her a kitten to play with but that's not an option since I can't even find an apartment that will take one cat !.

We have tried tons of toys and nothing works, she likes to chase stuff that moves continously, the string is the only thing that she loves and carries it around the house so I play with her but she likes to play HOURS and my arm gets tired. We tried the weasel but it is too noisy, we tried balls and but they stop moving and she loses interest and goes back to the string, oh and we tried the remote mouse but it is a piece of garbage, breaks inmediately... Any ideas?, my arm is so tired!!!.

hi i was at a cat show recently and i looked at the persian cats. i was told by people who bred flat-faced persians that doll-faced persians are not considered beautiful and will be obsolete in the pageantry circuit very soon. likewise, i talk to the doll-faced owners and they said flat-faced persians are unnatural and should be illegal. what is going on? cant there be two categories? i think they are both cute.
