Yes! I have a cat that loves plastic grocery bags in particular. I've heard that it's pretty common, and has to do with some ingredient or other that these things are made of. I make sure to put mine in a container so that I can get to them easily, but my cat can't - I have a feeling they're not great for him, no matter how much he likes them, and I certainly wouldn't want him to choke on a piece!

ya i have a cat that does the same thing. I dont know why but she likes to lick plastic bags or the bag that the toilet paper comes from...kinda the same material. Theres nothing wrong with your cat. Some cats do the same thing. So dont worry about it! And for the reason...have no clue...but its not a issue where the cat isnt getting enough attention or nervous...the cat just likes to lick it for some other reason.

One of mine licks plastic bags too & then, after licking for a while, she likes to sink her teeth into it ... not eating it - more sort of perforating it.
I read somewhere that they may lick plastic bags because they like the taste or the texture ... now I'm curious, I'll have to give it a go & see what it's like.

My friends cat does this constantly. It was quite odd to see a cat chewing on my target bag for the first time I will admitt but its common. I'm not sure what it is in the plastic that attracts them but theres nothing wrong with it. Just becareful when your cat is aroumnd plastic bags, wouldnt want him hurting himself or suffocating.

My cat chews plastic bags too!
He may chew it, kind a like cleaning his teeth. You can get grass at the pet store, and seeds to grow more, as an alternative. He got all that and more, but he still chews plastic bags. I just try to keep him away from it, Hide the bags.

My cat chews threw plastic bags which was funny when we moved because my boyfriends mum lent us one of those vacuum pack bags and by the time we got to our new flat and unpacked everything he had chewed a couple of holes in the bottom (no he wasnt in the bag) and we still havent owned up about it.

I used to have a cat that used to like chewing on plastic bags. It must be something they make them with that cats are attracted to.

Sadly my cat is no longer with us, but she was very attracted to plastic, especially clear bags such as potato bags or the plastic loaf wrappers you can get. (empty of course).

well my cat like to eat plastic. i told the vet about this and he says to try to keep the plastic out of his reach and as long as its not getting trapped in his intestines and he is passing it ok not to worry. but if your cat is licking it and not eating it, i dont think he's in any danger.

They do like plastic, my cat does the same but with newspaper, I have to throw it away inmediately or she will make a little "casita" for herself with it. It is cute except for the ink licking, that's not good.
