My son has a 11month old cat/kitten who has been going out for about 8 hours a day. Recently he has been coming back badly scratched and roughed up, so we have kept him in for about 4 days while he heals.
Unfortunately he has started urinating and defecating in places other than his litter tray, and also being sick occasionally on the carpet.
I imagine this is because he can't go out, can anyone help on this problem please?

My cat refuses toys, catnip, jingles, sparkling balls, yarn, and all the fun kitty toys- yet when I buy a gallon of milk he runs in the kitchen dives onto the counter and steals the wrap ring you peel off the milk. Then he skitters away and entertains himself for hours or until he looses it under the couch. Even if I throw it away he still gets it. The dog stands on the foot pedestal while he reaches in and grabs it out and I find it that night wrap up in my hair with him in mid leap. Why is it that no matter what you buy a cat, the paper bags and stuff you call junk, is always the ultimate toy?

My male cat is now I think about a year now. He is meowing almost all the time. He seems very healthy. I have another cat who is like 6 years (human) old and doesn't get along with him very well she is a female (fixed yes). They don't really fight physically but his and swat a bit. He is not fixed and I am wondering is this just him going into heat or what. I have two litter boxes for them and seperated bowls for food. Also have a gemale dog in the house and at first they didn;'t get along but now he likes the dog (who is female too) Both cats play just not together. Also at night he has a tendancy to bite (more like nibble) on my arm, wrist and hand then lye down on it. Anyway hope all this helps and someone can help. THANKS ALL

It only started about 3 weeks ago. After he is done meowing he cuddles up but before that he doesnt want to be messed with. I know most cats are not very personable but I just want to make sure nothing is wrong with him.

Have any of you had cats that were positive for the Leukemia virus - can you tell me how long they lived post-diagnosis and describe their quality of life. Also - did you keep them indoors once you knew they were FeLV +?

I have desperately wanted to get a cat since i was 4 1/2 im now 14!! My parents keep telling me we'll get one but I need to know if you're responsible enough and will you take care of it? I don't care if I have to clean up after it I've always wanted one! And now 2 of my friends have got them before me and one has a person who is mildly allergic to cats in the family! We have 5 cats and they all share the love of chewing plastic grocery bags.
Shopping day is their favorite day. They have the compulsion of routing through the bags and eventually if left at it long enough they chew on the bags.
What could be so tasty in plastic that they never miss a good chew?

My kitten (11 weeks old) has ringworm above her eye. We are treating it now, but the problem is that i noticed the bald patch or fur above her eye and thought it was just a scratch so i didnt treat it right away. I have been cudling her, petting her, and she even sleeps on my chest at night. Will I get it too? How do i avoid getting it? also, will it give me bald patches on my head?

it is good canned food too. as well as dry and water...He ate it before but I goofed and gave him some roasted chicken from dinner over the last few days and now thats all he wants...he won't eat anything else for the last few days...the only thing I can think of is to not give him anything until he is so hungry he'll go back to eating the canned and dry but I can't bring myself to do that, any suggestions?

I added a kitten (now about 7 months old) to the family and the 15 year old female cat is peeing on the bathroom floor, not on a rug, just out in the open. What can I do to get her back in the box. My vet suggested a product called "cat attract" anyone tried it?

My cat had thyroid level of 17. 5 is considered too high and should be at 2. The vet put him on medicine of 5mg twice a day. His levels were 17 and dropped to 5 in one month. She wants me to increase my cat’s medicine to 7.5 mg twice a day and see him in a month. I am happy my cat’s thyroid dropped, but can it drop too low? If I do logic math, it seems like in 4 weeks with increase medication he will be too low. What do you think?

Thank you

I have 3 feral cats that I rescued about 3 months ago, and was able to get one male fixed and get his shots, the other male and female are not able to be handled! The male that's fixed I can pet but not pickup, the other two tho come at me recently hissing and growling, trying to bite sometimes when I go to feed and water them. They all use the litterbox, and other than the eating problem seem normal...that's the only problem I have with them is that they are constantly hungry, even after I feed them (3 plates, full) they are ravenous!! They would each eat a whole box of kitten chow in one sitting if I let them...what can I do...I have to let the other 2 go once it starts warming up, but want to get them as healthy as I can before that...Please help!!

My female 2-year old cat urinates on the bed at least twice a week these days. Needless to say, this is disgusting. There are no other pets in the house and there haven't been any changes in the household. She normally uses her litter box faithfully but then suddenly goes ahead and pees on the bed. And for some reason, she does this in the evenings, she knows she's doing something wrong. Today, I just dunked her nose into the mess. I know that's not recommended, but I really don't know how to keep her away from this. Anyone have any suggestions?

She is fixed, she is 7 years old, she is perfectly healthy, she is getting a little fatter than usual. She wants to go outside (its like 15 degress out there) and we let her so she can feel how cold it is then she comes right back in. She still meows constantly like she wants to go out and she forgot how cold it is. She is not hungry. I give her lots of attention. What is it? Cabin Fever?

My cat, Purr-cy, is 16 years old. He has been sufferring with urinary track infections for the past 5 years and takes a pill each day for them. In addition, 3 years ago he was diagnosed with depression when I moved away for college so he also takes a kitty prozac each night. For a while he seemed to be doing better. Out of no where he began to spray the house. In the past 4 months he has dwindled from 10lbs to 6 and sometimes refuses to eat. He spends his days sleeping and he seems to be umcomfortable with walking. Although he seems happy when I am home, my parents have been trying to tell me that it's his time. I dont feel I am home enough to make the proper decision. We also have an 10 month old cat who picks on Purr-cy relentlessly and there is no way we can seperate them. My mind is telling me it might be his time, but my heart is so broken when I look in his eyes. If anyone has any advice or has been through this...I would love to hear what you have to say.

I cleaned his stomach and washed him I wasn't sure what was going on. He is such a good boy. I spread the hair on his stomach and noticed a big scratch mark. He had two swollen bubbles. I saw what I thought were bite marks, but after looking again it appears it might of been a racoon with sharp claws that got him. They looked more like puntures. A dog would not go after the stomach. Any advise, I feel for my furry friend, Has anyone else encountered a raccoon that has attacked their cat.
