it is good canned food too. as well as dry and water...He ate it before but I goofed and gave him some roasted chicken from dinner over the last few days and now thats all he wants...he won't eat anything else for the last few days...the only thing I can think of is to not give him anything until he is so hungry he'll go back to eating the canned and dry but I can't bring myself to do that, any suggestions?

Yeah unfortunately you are right -- the only way is to leave dry food out -- when the kitty gets hungry he will eat. Once he begins to eat dry then place the canned -- otherwise the canned food will spoil and become a harvesting ground for fly larvae -- gross !! Good luck....from one spoiled cat owner to another...

well, you may not like the idea of giving him anything, but as long as the wet & dry food is out, he'll eat it if he's hungry enough.
or cut up some of the chicken, & mix it in with his food.
But animals have a strong sense of self preservation, he's not going to starve to death. He's got you wrapped around his little paw!
be strong, you can do it!

mix a little can and a little dry food together.Put a couple of pieces of chicken in it and a couple of pieces on top.
If he does not eat then he is not hungry enough let him be he will eat when he gets ready.Just have his food where he knows it is.

They have hard food just for kittens. The regular hard food is too hard for their teeth. The bites hurt but, their teeth arent as strong as you think, to crunch the food. And there is nothing wrong about spoiling your cat. Leave the hard food out for him to snack and feed him the canned food twice a day. He will love you for it and the biting will chill out.

He should only be given dry kitten food until a year, then switch to dry adult food. Canned food rarely as a treat.
When he gets hungry, he will eat. Don't cave....

Instead of starving him, which is difficult on his kidneys and digestive system, try weaning him off of the chicken.
Give him a little bit of chicken stirred in with his food, and gradually give him less chicken over the next few days.
Supplementing with kitty treats may help ease his pains. :)
Good luck, and I hope this helps. :)

They make grilled chicken canned cat food. Did you try that? You can also add alittle milk to the canned food and that will get them interested. Never feed your animals table scraps. The fat, salt and calorie content is too much for their tiny bodies!

Bring yourself to stop giving him table food, you are doing him no favors. He has cat food available, he will eat it if he thinks you won't give in and give him something better. Cats NEED cat food to be healthy, eating too much people food will make him malnourished.
