I already took a few days to cut him down and wean him off. Maybe it was too quick. He seems depressed and keeps trying to get me to feed him Greenies. He is getting occasoinal snacks, just not Greenies.

I have been a responsible cat owner for the past 40 something years! This cat goes outside some of the time and we have about half an acre of grass, which he enjoys during mostly daylight hours, when he wants to. And, yes the Greenies are a problem, as he developed real addictive behavior patterns. For example, he was so interested in Greenies that nothing else seemed to matter much to him, not our affection, not other cats in the yard, not food so much. You should NEVER assume I'm mistreating my cat, because I never do. I'll try to give you the same courtesy. Thank you.

yes, the rescue remedy should help a lot. i'm sure that there are some bach flower remedies that can be used especialy for that as well, but i don't know which ones to tell u right now. if the rescue remedy does not nd up working as well as u would like i would try mixing it with some other bach flower remedies, but be careful that u do not use two things together or one right after the other if they shouldn't be mixed.

I would be leery of administering Rescue Remedy to your kitty. It is intended for cats that are panicky, not as an appetite suppressant. Even so called "natural" supplements can cause damage to your cat's kidneys and liver, and the damage sometimes takes a while to manifest.

I'm not sure what the recommended allowance of Greenies is a day, but I think it would be okay to let your kitty enjoy up to that amount.

Have you tried breaking the Greenies into smaller pieces to reduce his intake?

Cats are quirky, but I can think of worse habits your cat could have than enjoying kitty treats. Let him enjoy a healthy amount, and he just might get tired of them in time.

Try shaking things up for him by buying him his own live catnip plant.

Good luck to you and your kitty, and I hope this helps! :)

if greenies are kitty snacks with greens in, then feed them to him. if greenies are drugs, shame on you. kitties do not choose to do drugs except catnip. then they are junkies.........

does your kitty eat grass? IF NOT, YOU MIGHT CONSIDER THE KITTY IS TELLING YOU SOMETHING.
if the thing you are so worried about is a green snack, kitties need grass to help them deal with hairballs. greens are good for kitty.
the best thing to feed kitty for hairballs is grass.
i keep wheat grass next to kitty food dish.
be good to kitty.
enjoy kitty.
