My three cats have currently been living on a large farm in 5 acres with no cats on their territory, due to circumstances, they will now have to be moved to a small garden backing on to terraced house gardens with quite a few cats. Will this create tension, has anyone done this before? They are just not used to other cats, and are triplets 1 tom and 2 girls

my neutered male cat is harassing the fixed female cats in house, and apparently in the neighborhood too.

My female kitty was fixed 10 days ago. The clinic says I can take off that damn hoodie (collar) now. But I'm afraid if she pulls at the one stitch. There is only a piece of the thread sticking out.... if I cut it do you think that will be ok? Has anyone here had this problem with their preciou kitty?

thanks for your time....

It doesnt seem to matter what food she eats, she is sometimes sick directly after eating or a couple of hours later. Appart from that she seems very healthy.

How do you ground a cat?
A bit of background; Gus is is an older, very affectionate black tomcat comparable in mass to a small planet. In a nights lazing about on our new couch we estimated he generates enough electrical potential to power most of california. So when i come home from a long day I am no longer greeted by a cuddly feline but rather a poping, sparking, lint covered electromagent.
Sounding like a microwave full of foil and attracting bits of fluff and paper as he bounds towards me, I prepare for an experience which I can only describe as akin to closely embracing a tesla coil. So, as my girlfriend runs for the heart paddles, Gus sadly moseys off, as he doesn't understand whats gone wrong or why hes also recieving a hefty dose of current. I tried to explain it, but hes never been one for the hard sciences and mentally files all forms of electricity under 'human witchcraft'.
How do I safely discharge my little buddy without him zapping us with his static sparks?

my cat is lovely, except for her scratching. she's destroyed one sofa, and is on the way to destroying a second, as well as the stairs, and a chair...

she has a scratching post, ignores it, even if i put catnip spray on it.
we've put towels over the offending areas, she moves them aside to scratch.
we stomp and shout if we hear her doing it.
shes even pushed my dad out the way, sat on his feet, and scratched the stairs.

my dad wants to throw out the second sofa and get a leather one, does anyone know if she'll destroy that too? the stairs aren't so bad as it's old carpet and will one day be replaced, but any tips?

i want to try citronella, but i'm worried it will stain.

the cat is approx 8 years old, she was a rescue we got when she was 5-6 years old. i do NOT believe in declawing, and she has the freedom to go outside when ever she wants. (shes shredded a fence post in the garden too...) i don't live with her, i live in the city, but i want to help my dad out!

I have 3 weeks old kittens. Their mom has gone so I start bottle feeding them today. Yet, they are going to be 4 weeks old this Saturday. Should I start wean them? So far I have got a mixed response on this. some says it is ok, some says I should wait until they are 5-6 weeks old.

I'm pregnant; we have two cats. One is a complete delight. The other, well...

It's been extremely frustrating trying to train him not to do anything. He quite obviously knows where he is and isn't supposed to scratch; just doesn't always care. He's sometimes prone to giving you nips, too -- broke the skin a *tiny* bit last night -- occasionally, purring away during a petting, there's an abrupt bite not preceded by any "I am getting tired of this" warning at all. He is, well, like some people, just not into rules, and sometimes kind of hard to get on with. Nothing is off-limits for him if nobody's looking.

He can also be pretty charming, though. He likes to stand on his hind legs and place his front paws on you to request a petting; plays well with his 'sister,' and is a natural at purring and kneading.

I'm getting worried that I have +/- six months to get this cat ready to be around a baby, or... Or, well, I'd rather not think about it.

Help!

My kitten is about 10 months old.
She never has done the typical "heat ritual".
It is normal for her to meow frequently, she's a big talker.
But 2 1/2 days ago, she disappeared outside and came back last night.
She hardly ever leaves my side, other than to go outside to use the bathroom, then right back to my lap she goes.
but now she won't leave me alone, and she is being very very affectionate..
She is very very petite, and I'm worried she might die if she's pregnant..
COULD she be pregnant?
and how will I know?
Is it okay for cats to have normal pregnancies at 10 months of age and being a runt?
What can I do to help????
and should I keep her inside during her pregnancy?

help is much appreciated.

Hi, i bought 2 cats for my girlfriend, one of 2 years old and the other 3. They lived togheter at someone else before so they are used to be togheter.
My girlfriend lives alone in a small appartment and we have 1 couch. The 3 years old cat always seems to spray or poop on the couch when he's upset.

He mostly do it when we are sleeping or gone for the day, else when we are around he behaves and go in his box. When we sleep the cat is used to sleep in bed with us and its when we throw him out of the bed that he does this kind of thing usualy. One day he even pee on my feets while i was sleeping and started spreading it with his feets.

We tryed to put plastic bags everywhere, we tried to put vinager and stuff to repulse cats, we tryed to put there food on the coutch but nothing works!!!

We really need help or we are gonna have to get rid of the cat and my girlfriend will be really really sad !!!

Please help !!!!!

My family took in two female strays a few years ago, and they've never been spayed. They aren't overly annoying when they are in heat, and because they are always indoors, they have no access to male cats. Therefore, their not being spayed doesn't really hurt us -- but my question is this: does going through the heat (and not being able to do anything to meet their "needs") actually hurt the cats themselves in any way? Is it painful or stressful for them? I'd hate to put them through the surgery since none of the reasons for doing it is an issue (heat's not annoying or destructive and no males = no kittens), but if not doing so is putting my kitties through weeks of misery... :/ They're also about five years old, if that helps determine a better answer.

I found it in the middle of the road so I brought it home.
I don't know what to do with it. It doesn't seem right to just throw it in the trash and I live in an apartment so I can't exactly bury it in my backyard.

What should I do with it?

I know something is wrong with my cat. She's about 10 years old, and she's pretty fat. But lately, she's been going to the litter box a lot to pee, but she spends about 3 to 5 minutes in the litter box and only goes a very tiny bit each time, like she's having a really hard time going pee. I'm going to go to the vet tomorrow and set up an appointment...the problem is that she is a very mean cat, so to even check on her the vet is going to have to put her to sleep just to touch her. Has anyone else had a problem like this with their cat? Help!!

She also is trying to clean herself constantly but she's too fat and can't reach. Which isn't my fault but my parent's fault, who decided to feed her so much people food when she was younger and before i took her with me to my house.
