My cat was a stray, and we adopted her and she became our cat. She hasnt been fixed (obviously), and she has gone into heat. and OMG she will not stop howling and meowing and rolling on her back and putting her face to the ground!!! Is there anything i can do besides going and getting her spayed(we have an appointment next week) too keep her quiet???

Thanks

I don't know anything about looking after cats which is why I've been looking on this website in the first place!
I have had a cat that has just started to visit my house, he/she is lovely. I don't know who, if anyone owns this cat, she certainly looks healthy & looks well looked after.
I have had the cat in the house on several occasions, sometimes my choice & sometimes the cat’s choice.
On some occasions whenever I don't want the cat in the house, the cat just pushes past me whenever I am opening the front door & runs up the stairs as quick as lightening just to roll about on the carpet, on the landing & purrs like mad. I have let the cat stay in (sometimes for a few hours at a time) because recently it has been extremely cold outside.
I am concerned that someone out there is looking for a cat. It is not here all the time & the cat does seem to roam around the neighbourhood a lot although a few days can pass by without me seeing the cat.
I honestly don't know if I'm doing the right thing but I don't know anything about where the cat lives but the cat is welcome here!

My 7 year old daughter just lost her pet cat Amy. Now a couple of months ago we moved to a new state and bought a house in the city where we used to live in the country. My daughter had to adjust to a new school, friends, extra activities like cheerleading, dance, etc. but her pet Amy has always been there to get her up and wait for her on when she went to school and when she came home. But this evening before we left for Jazz class my daughter came running in saying that something was wrong with Amy I went out on our porch and yes the cat did die but of what I don't know so how do I console her.She is very upset over this latest loss

Sissy my 1 year old cat had her first 3 kittens today! It was a long day, she seemed to have trouble with having them. She is in the bottom of my hall closet with them. They are all doing fine. But I have a 6 month old pit bull that wants to be around them to much. What would the best thing for me to do? I have had my dog in his cage all day. I don't think that is fare though. What all does my cat need around her? She has a bowl of food and water in there with her. But I don't want her closed up in there. This is the first time I have delt with anything like this. My husband says I worry to much and it will be fine. But I just don't know. Please any help is GREAT! Thanks

I am the community sleeping bag for my cats, both of them love to sleep on my chest, and it doesn't matter if I am sleeping on the couch, in the bedroom. They only do it to me, not to my fiancee, my kitten just paws his face to get him up before work. Why am I the community sleeping bag and he isn't?

I have 2 finches. I would love to get a cat, but I'm not sure if you can train a cat to stay away from the birds.

My cat is about 14 or more yrs old. She isn't eating her food that we always give her. The food level in her dispenser thing hasn't changed in like 2 weeks. She will eat other stuff like bologna if i let her. Is she ok or do we just need to change her food?

I have a four year old female, spayed, housecat. I had her since she was six weeks old. Since day one, she was always very whiny and needy, but lately she's been out of control. She is constantly scratching the furniture, trying to pull up the carpet, and peeing directly outside the litter box. She jumps all over me at night, and she will sit on my face if I don't pay attention to her while I'm sleeping. I've tried scratching posts (my other cat thoroughly enjoys them), spray bottles, etc., but nothing seems to work. She'll cry until l pet her, but once I do, she'll bite...and hard.

I love this cat so much, and I want nothing more than to help her become more healthy and normal. Vets have told me she's normal, but she's obviously not. I'm worried that I'll have to give her away because she's destroying my things, and I know that when I have children, she could be a danger to the babies.

If you have any advice you can share with me, I'd really appreciate it. I want to keep her.

My 8 month old cat went out Last Friday and has not been seen since. Ive put posters in windows, signs on lamp posts, phoned all local vets and the cleansing department. No one has seen her at all ive searched evrywhere for. What do you think the chances of her coming back are and how long would you leave it to get another cat. I have a three year old who is quite upset. Thanks

This kitten was very special to me, there were times when I'de pet it that it hissed and scratched but it was also VERY easily influenced. For example if I put her near a dog, she would try to bark!

I've recently taken in a stray cat who, although mostly skin and bones (hungry), appeared to be pregnant. She's been with me for about two weeks now and has since gotten very healthy in size. But just today, I found that she had given birth to a kitten VERY EARLY. I found it in her bed, dead and looked the way aborted babies look but it was developed enough to tell it was a kitten.

I have a few questions, so please try to answer.

1. I'm sure she will, but is it likely that she will get very depressed from this?

2. Could she still be pregnant? I mean, could she have had one baby way too early because it was dead but still have babies inside of her?

Please help! I've been taking care of her and trying hard to find her a good home but now that this has happened, I'm very worried for her.

His name is JJ, and my female cat is old, she is almost blind by old age, but My cat JJ always picks on her , everytime my female cat want's to eat or drink , he bugs her until he;s the one who eats and drinks, and when everybody else is petting coco, that's her name, he just starts bullying her , and everytime she comes into the house, he jumps on her and bites her neck, then he backs off and his ears just goes behind his head, and when JJ eats , and my cat coco, starts to takes a drink of water , he tips the bowel all over her, and she runs, why is he doing this and once I get him fixed, will he behave and leave her alone

my friend has a 6 month old cat who just had 5 kittens yesturday (believe me, i'm giving him crap about getting the other 6 months old fixed). He told me that the kittens are not nursing from the mother. Do yall think he means that the mother is not nursing them(probably because of her age) or that te kittens are really sick and not drinking from the mother? i really dont know what I'm dealing with either and just wanted yall's opinions.

btw I dont think he's very educated about cats, thats why I'm not taking his word there..

MY cat JJ always knocks down his bowel of food, everytime when I look at him and when Someone say the word VET, when I started saying that word, cause he's going to get fixed monday , does he know what's going to happen to him? And how can I stop this , he just like to push it over every where and into his water dish, and how can I get him to stop tipping over his food.
