My cat was a stray, and we adopted her and she became our cat. She hasnt been fixed (obviously), and she has gone into heat. and OMG she will not stop howling and meowing and rolling on her back and putting her face to the ground!!! Is there anything i can do besides going and getting her spayed(we have an appointment next week) too keep her quiet???

Thanks

Sorry this is all a chemical thing that happens in a cat it just has to pass.

I did the same thing (adopted a stray)..normally after about 5-7 days she quieted down when she was in heat...other than that..I havent found any other solution (except to work long hours at work and sleeping in a different room). My male kitten was worse though..id rather hear the female scream than smell what the male did before we got them both fixed...

Good luck...I paid 40 for the male to get fixed, and 45 for the female...(who ripped her one and only stich out..thank God..because then we found out that it (the suture) was slightly infected.) $95 beans later they gave us antibiodics and after 10 days..both kitties seem to be back to normal..kinda..(they stray female is a little less aggressive towards me now) :)

Thought its annoying, thankfully it doesn't occur every month unlike the female human cycles... Though you might want to keep your distance from her as the sounds are unbearable, its not your cats fault. Make sure that you keep showing her the same amounts of attention and affection. Try to distract her by playing with her. I swear it tones down the level of our felines howls... I think she becomes pre-occupied.

Unfortunately there really isn't anything you can do until her appointment. You can try distracting her by trying to play toys and things like that. My cat just got spayed and she was driving me nuts. I just closed my door at night and turned on my fan so I couldn't her it. You pretty much just have to deal with it though. Sorry!

hi. i know this sounds mean but i heard that if you put vasailne on the end of a q-tip and stick in the cat's but it helps. this girl that i used to babysait for did this because she couldnt afford to get her spayed. it worked for a bit but of course she started back up in a day or two. hope this helps.......................

It's simple the cat wants to get married, and trust me on that.

I am sorry, I don't think you can do anything. We just had our kitty spayed last week. I think you just have to let her go through it.

No, there is nothing you can do, maybe just try and confine to her one room for now.

Not much you can do until you spay her.
