My elder kitty has a special food, because of his age and the vet recommended it us, for him to eat due to the richness of the other type of dry cat food. Other words, he gets older cat food, and my eight month old kitten loves to eat from the same bowl as him, even avoiding her kitten food that I put out for her. Is it okay for a kitten to be eating is food or should I stagger their feeding times? If He eats the other type of food put out, I usually have a nice mess to clean up on the carpet or the bed.

I hate that I have to ask this, being a pre-veterinary student myself, but I have a question concerning my kitty's irritable GIT and swollen, red gums.
I've taken him to the vet several times, but she says there isn't anything to worry about right now.

I got my kitty about 8 months ago from the animal shelter, and soon found that his stools were VERY foul-smelling and contained blood. We switched him to an all-soft food Science Diet ID regiment, which cleared things up considerably. However, I was wondering if there is any other ways (pills, etc) to help with this besides this rather expensive and tedious diet? (He's still growing, and purely canned food gets very expensive).

Also, does anybody have any experience with this type of problem, or know what may be the basis of it?

I think my kitten has an upper respiratory infection. I have a vet appointment tomorrow, but I am wondering if anyone has gone through this with their cat/kitten? How was your cat treated and how did the recovery go? Thank you!

My cat is a little on the chubby side. The vet gave us this diet food and when I started feeding it to him, he started vomiting. I took him off the food and he stopped vomiting, should I keep him off the food?

I have posted questions on here before about this, but finally the time has come when I am actually going to adopt a puppy, and I am soooo worried about the effect it will have on my cat. She is only 19 months old and is the centre of attention in our house - she is loved so much! I really don't want her to be upset by the arrival of a puppy, but neither do I want to be afraid to give the puppy lots of love just because Ebony might be jealous. How can I do this? Will I really distress Ebony by bringing a puppy to live with us? Will I be able to give the pup lots of love without upsetting her? What's the best way to introduce them? Can they live happily together?

My 5 month old kitten has developed small (about 1/4 - 1/2 inch across) raised spots on the lower left side of her tummy/upper leg area. They are also on that ridge that comes up when you pull a cats leg out straight. On a person they would be little spots of ecxema but I've never had it on a cat before. Any ideas?

I want my cat to stop pushing it's way through the blinds and bending them to stare out the window. then goes crazy when it sees another cat or a squirel and ruins the blinds more. I try to squirt her and she will run away, then about an hour later she's back in the window. I don't want her by the window.

The kitten has wobbly kitten syndrome and we found him in a sewer. He has been examined by a vet and has had bloodwork done. Everything checks out ok. Does anyone have any ideas?

I am so sick of these search results that come up then you need a script which is just an excuse to donate $$ to your vet. My vet is thirty miles away and Redfern the King of Donuts cat just has a little sneezing/congestion. Don't get me wrong, I respect and value my vet but like the human medical care machine some things are not worth paying for. Yes, I know I can buy the human equivalent called Augmentin from my friends in Thailand at www.vrdrug.com (if you have need for stuff they are awesome) but it is a bit pricey. www.discountpetmeds.com happily took my info for 29 cents per dose then took two days to tell me they need a script. such BS! OK animal lovers, show me what u got!!!!!
P.S. we are the home of over twenty strays, all vetted and fixed, as well as Diablo the Bad Black Ox (saved from slaughter at three days old) and Galahad and Lancelot, two half brother horses that were destined for the glue factories in Canada. I am barren and these are my children that are a gift.

I left some carnations and roses on the table to throw out and my cat got into them. He ate some and then began to throw up. He threw up a bunch of times at the end just white foamy stuff like spit. He seems fine now - but should I be worried and do I need to take him to the emergency vet??

The kitten is a male (altered of course). I want to name him Kovu (I'm sure there are too many Simbas already) but my husband doesn't like that name. I'm looking for a name that has something to do with his just slightly wild background! Thanks!

I was trying to help my neighbors kid get his cat, and I rather me get bit then him. I look like I was in a fight or something. I know the cat had his rabies shot but i don't know if i should go to the dr. the injury is pritty bad, but what could they do for me anyway?

She was originally a stray and we took her in and she's been with us for about 6 years. I've researched so many things on this and nothing seems to come up. I've moved the cat box, I've changed the litters, I've tried different types of cat boxes, tried giving her extra affection and encouragement. I've tried deterrent sprays, I've taken her to the Vet and they said nothing was wrong with her. I even went so far as to try anti depressants. She doesn't go on tile floor, only carpet. I feel like I've tried everything, I just can't figure out what else it could possibly be. There haven't really been any changes of anyone coming or going etc. She has always had this problem and it's just getting to the point where I'm exasperated and out of ideas. Does anyone have any suggestions at all???

My cat eats dry food. He is a 7 month old kitten. I heard that if I feed him wet food that the cat will become use to it and demand it and then not eat his dry food. To me dry food is easier because its cheaper and you don't have to deal with throwing away a can. What should I do?

my mom is kind of allergic to them, but not alot. i offered for it to live in my room, and she wouldnt have to go in there alot so it wouldnt hurt her. also, she has a rented house, and the landlord said no pets. still, my mom has always been one to bend the rules a little. if i get one i said it'd be short-haired, house trained, and id pay for all its food ect. ect. the landlord has never come up there before. honestly! and if they did, it'd be easy to hide the cat. ive done it before for a straight week and no one knew!! the landlord wouldnt come up there and investigate my room top from bottom anyways. so, anything else yall think yall could add on top of it.

p.s. no, im not going to offer to let her name it. she named her children jobeth and wade. cant do it.
