I got scratched pretty badly a few days ago. Yesterday the scratch was hurting and looking inflamed. Today everything is fine.

The problem with a puncture bite is that staph from your skin can be taken deep into your body and cause a serious infection. Usually the reaction will be pretty immediate, very painful and that would call for a visit to the doctor and antibiotics for you. If your tetanus shot is up to date (every ten years) you should be OK though if you haven't had a shot recently it might be good to update it.

allergic reactions shouldn't play a place if bitten via a cat. you may no longer have a situation with the surely scratches and bites. You DO choose to bathe the injuries besides as feasible. to bathe the positioning and take the precautions: a million. Wash the chew or scratch factors vigorously for 2-3 minutes with heat/warm water and anti-bacterial cleansing soap. 2. Pour a small volume of rubbing alcohol on the wound and enable take a seat for around 10-15 seconds. 3. cover with a bandage or band-help 4. If itching takes place you are able to word a small volume of Neosporin or a anti-histamine product. issues to observe for: Swollen Lymph nodes, Tiny bumps around the injuries, low-grade fever. those are indications of Cat scratch fever. i does no longer trouble because it rather is a uncommon incidence and is very generally triggered via kittens. follow the above 4 steps and you'd be advantageous.

It isn't likely that you would catch any disease from the cat. You should wash the area with soap and water or use a little antiseptic if you have it to help prevent infection. I have had my arm covered in scratches and a little feral kitten once bit through my thumb nail and it always heals fine. Cat scratches will sometimes be slightly raised which is normal. Keep the area clean and watch that the area around it doesn't start so get red or swollen.

Make sure the cat is in fact vacinated and all shots are up to date. The doctor will probably just put a few bandages on the cuts and possibly a tetnus shot if you havent had one with in the past 10 years.

Well, if the cat's had all of its shots and it's a house cat then you probably don't have too much to worry about. If it's not completely up to date or is generally an outdoor cat and can be exposed to a lot more, it wouldn't hurt to be checked. I'm not sure that they could too much for you though.
