LOL because you belong to him. You are lucky. He displays all the ways cats show affection. The bite is telling you he accepts you. As for how hard it is. Cats skin is thicker than ours and if you were a cat it would not hurt. He just does not know he is hurting him.

Why does your cat take a small bite on your arm or cheek and hold on for a few seconds?

Some cats, when they are very happy and feeling extremely affectionate toward the Big Unfurry Cat, will gently take a piece of human skin between their teeth and hold it for a few seconds. Think of it as the feline equivalent of kissing.

They do that run over to jump up with both paws like they learned from their mother. It is a throwback head greeting. They reserve this for humans. The mother would lower her head to rub her nose with the kittens to mingle scents. It is harder for cats to do this to humans as we are taller than their mothers. When you are sitting down it is easier.

Well I'm not sure, but mine only does the jumping and putting the arms around the neck thing, he has never bit me. It may just be a territorial kind of thing. Ask your vet the next time you take him.Hope this helps ya out.

Because he loves u baby! I think I would put a stopper on that biting thing and teach him how to bump you in the head.

Amazingly, many cats shower their affection by biting. It's just one of those mysteries of life.

those nips, or bites are kitty kisses...he/she is merely showing affection. i know it is odd and perhaps painful, but it is the way of the cat and it is best to just suffer through it.
