I am so sick of these search results that come up then you need a script which is just an excuse to donate $$ to your vet. My vet is thirty miles away and Redfern the King of Donuts cat just has a little sneezing/congestion. Don't get me wrong, I respect and value my vet but like the human medical care machine some things are not worth paying for. Yes, I know I can buy the human equivalent called Augmentin from my friends in Thailand at www.vrdrug.com (if you have need for stuff they are awesome) but it is a bit pricey. www.discountpetmeds.com happily took my info for 29 cents per dose then took two days to tell me they need a script. such BS! OK animal lovers, show me what u got!!!!!
P.S. we are the home of over twenty strays, all vetted and fixed, as well as Diablo the Bad Black Ox (saved from slaughter at three days old) and Galahad and Lancelot, two half brother horses that were destined for the glue factories in Canada. I am barren and these are my children that are a gift.

I would suggest you get a prescription for human and then dilute it down. The reason they are concerned about the drug is the indiscriminate use that has led to the resistant strains of staph bacteria. I can do the dilution rates for you if you wish. The tablet is put into solution to be used with in 10 days. It's not that it goes bad in ten days as much as this is not to be used for chronic conditions. I'll get back with you. I don't have my email listed but will do so shortly. I'm setting up this computer now and may have to reload every thing. My computer needs some viral meds if the surgery doesn't work.

Sometimes you have vets that don't like to work with you no matter how long you have been going to them. I had a cat who has since passed that had frequent UTI's. It was always Clavamox he prescribed and it was always $40.00 office fee and $39.00 for the Clavamox. So in these situations looking for an alternative makes sense. If more Vets were less money hungry grubbers this wouldn't be an issue. We had a wonderful vet here, 40 years experience, low rates and cheap spay and neuter, none of that $600 dollar padding, mostly about 125 to 150. Well all of the other vets in the area took him to court and got him closed up. Still interesting how a vet with a perfectly clean history was closed, but then again, smaller communities, greedy judges, money flowing cheesy vets and you get a good doctor out of business.
Everybody would like to go the route of seeing the vet everytime, however like human medicine, you have to have use some common sense sometime. Not every ailment that pets have require a doctor visit, just like for us. We don't go see a doctor for every cold or flu symptom, we take an over the counter medication and they need to offer those same options for pets and pet owners. I don't even $40 everytime I go to the doctor, so why should I have to for a pet for every little sneeze or issue.

I got a beautiful half Russian Blue half Maine Coone about 3 mnths ago and she fell ii. The cat was to the point of just being limp. Took her to the Vet, the vet wanted $340 24 hour IV ... $400 blood work not to mention the $93.00 visit and all sorts of other expensive procedures. Gave her CLAVAMOX she was eating and running around 5 hours later.

You need a prescription because its required by law. Also, just so you are aware and dont follow the above posters advice, Augmentin contains a different amount of clavulanic acid than Clavamox does, yes they are the same drug, but in different percentages. If you have a good relationship with your vet, and he is aware of your work with strays, call him and ask him to fax a prescription to the company (as long as your pet has been examined within the last year it is legal for him to do so) But be aware that your taking some amount of risk by treating an illness without having it diagnosed. Yes it most likely is URI, but theres always that chance that its not too.

She didn't ask for all your opinions, if you can't answer her question then shut up.
I looked, I can't find anywhere to buy them. I was thinking maybe another country, I got Profender from Canada without a script but that is a wormer, not an antibiotic.

Cheap meds doesn't always me quality meds. I have a friend who is a vet tech. tell me that alot of those cheap meds are really expired meds that may or may not work cause they are so old. That put me off from getting my meds from a different source other than my vet.
If you have a great relationship with your vet like I do, he/she will be willing to work out deals for you..discounts, free test/meds. etc. I usually end up paying 1/2 what the going rate is on any vet services my animals need done and they also let me pay in installments.
