Its a behaviour cats have and it goes way back from there wild hunting ages..its there "need" so they bring where its safe or somewhere where they think its good enough to drink or eat from...cats have alot of unexplianed behaviour. Consider it a normal routine, but if it botheres you, buy a heavier bowl so its harder for her to move...

My kitten used to do this until I got a heavier bowl and one that didn't have a lip for her drag the bowl with. Basically, she may just be playing with it. Or you may need to put down a slipgrip mat under the water bowl and also put a bowl on a mat in the living room. I have two cats and they sometimes fight over the water, so I have four water bowls around a house, to cut down on some of the light growling that they each do to each other.

It may be a play thing for her, or she just prefers to have the water bowl in the living room. I'm not a animal behaviourlist. Also we have in our house one bowl that is a bubbler and my cats love to drink out of this, after they got used to the sound. Also another thing that helps and can be found in pet shops is something called a buddy bowl, it is supposed to be spill proof. These are just some helpful suggestions to you. As I said, there could be a a variety of reasons of why your charming cat is dragging it's water bowl.

Your cat is wierd. My cat wont drink out of the bowl. She either drinks from the kitchen fawcet and leaves the water running or she scoops it up and drinks from her paw. I'd try to get her fixed but with the rates therapists charge these days and it's not covered on my insurance. I finally got her a fountain to use for a bowl. My water bill went way down.

preference. i have a cat that takes out every piece of food one at a time from the bowl to eat it off the floor.

maybe try weighing down the bowl, or getting a heavier ceramic one.

Everyone has strange habits maybe you are in that room so thats why. If its a kitten maybe its just a game there are some cats who love water I used to have one that loved to get in the bath!

Because he wants to. Cats have distinct personalities and they do what they want. My cats drag my personal garments around. You just deal with it. If he keeps doing it then just move the water dish or get a ceramic heavier one.

not sure about cats, but my little pup did it too. She has a metal container and my vet said that the sound of the water in the metal dish on the tiled floor upset her so she was dragging into the loungeroom on the carpet.

You could try getting a water station even though the bubbles enticed my cat to empty it all at once, I liked the answer Huggz gave.

She might be playing with it, or if her litter box is anywhere near where her water is now she might be moving it to keep it further away. Cats don't generally like to eat/drink where their bathroom is.
