Bane is giving you affection. I have three cats and did a lot of research about cat behavior and have experienced this.
Bane feels comfortable with you and the only way he can show it is to suckle and lick.
Two of the best sources are books I recommend.

It's nothing to be worried about, my kitten does it too. It is a comfort thing because he was possibly taken from his mom too young. My cat will suckle on my ears for a bit, then when he decides that he is done, will go and sleep. You cat may or may not grow out of it, but enjoy it, he loves you and you are his mommy substitute :)

Sometimes when a cat is taken away from his mother too soon they tend to knead and/or suckle anyone who pets them. It's as if they didn't get to suckle enough from their mother, so they keep the habit as they grow older. I have a 13 year old cat who still does this to me. He's just being affectionate, but sometimes his drool is a bit excessive.

Relating to you as the mommy and gets Comfort by doing this -usually taken away from the mother too soon. If its not hurting you I'd just let her do it fir it relieves all her stress while she's comforting herself and the least amt of stress means a healthier and a long life for the kitty.

He in all probability has a blockage, and licking he's attempting to get it to bypass out. it rather is not general habit a cat, fastened or no longer. i might noticeably advise you're taking him to the vet to have him regarded at, and toss the monkey. that is wonderful now even though it form of feels to be inflicting him rigidity. he will overlook approximately it quickly adequate, and with a bit of luck which will help issues alongside. it rather is recommended to think of approximately getting him a chum, he sounds lonely....

He loves you is all. I had a cat that did that as well. When he was a kitten his would try to nurse on me or my mom's ears. He moved on to just nuzzling in hair. It's pretty normal behavior for cats, it comforts them. Enjoy it, it's a nice bonding experience for you and Bane.

I agree that it a Mummy fixation and he's nice and relaxed and "suckling". My kitten does much the same thing, but it's when she starts nibbling on the ear lobe that it gets ticklish!

Do you put perfume or lotion on your neck? The cat might lick your neck if you put certain chemicals or scents on your neck. If not, it might just like you. Or maybe you have a scent similar to it's mother or some other cat.

It's called an oral fixation. It's because, basically he misses his mommy and the calming effects of her milk and he's trying to figure yout how you, the foster mommy, can produce the same wonderful stuff.
