I have 2 finches. I would love to get a cat, but I'm not sure if you can train a cat to stay away from the birds.

I think It would be okay if the birds had cages which i am sure they do. You know how a cats likes mice well i have a hamster and i put the hamster in my cats face and all he does is sniff it and move backwards. All you have to do is show the cat the bird and try to explain to the cat not to eat the bird because he lives her to. I know it sounds silly but that is what you have to do if you want to get a cat.

it depends on what kind of cage you have and where you put the cage. Cats will naturally try to get at the birds. I would say it would be best to have one or the other, which if you have a cat you might end up with just one.

It would be okay if you kept the cat and the birds away from
eachother. If you cant keep them away from eachother it would be best not to get a cat

you should be able to train it. you can train a cat to do anything with enough patience (& treats!)
get a kitten, spend a lot of time training it, and have a safe guard to protect your birds--just in case!

Give the birds mace or a hand gun to protect them! LOL
Keep them in the cage with screen in it to keep unwanted paws from getting them.

Only if it is a kitten - then you can train it to leave the birds alone.

I would get a shock collar( just a little itty bitty one) and if your kitty atacks your birds, then give it a buzz.
