Mine does this all the time. It's a love gift. You should be very flattered. He loves you!
Be thankful also that it is just mice. My cat brings in fully grown rabbits, voles, birds, weasels as well as mice!
You could always shut him in at night and give him a litter box. He could then go out in the daytime when there are not so many rodents about.

He loves you!! They're just his way of saying it!
Also, he probably finds it EXTREMELY funny when you have a fit over it! Can't you picture him dropping it off on the bed and then scarpering to have a chuckle with his cat-mates?! "Meow meow meow - you should've seen the face on my human when it saw the headless mouse this morning, ha ha ha". You KNOW that's what's happening.
There's not much you can do about it, I'm afraid. Eventually, he'll grow out of it. When my Furlong was younger, he brought all sorts of things in for me - I frequently came home from work to find mice, pigeons, bats, frogs and smaller birds on the kitchen floor. Very nice. He's stopped now. Thank goodness.

The nature of a cat. The mice might decide not to come back and a lot of people will be happy about having no mice.

They are gifts to you.He thinks you'll love a free meal.He also thinks you need food as you don't catch your own birds lol.
There is no way to stop it as it's normal for cats.
My cat is useless and can't catch anything so I don't get this but her brother brings my friend all sorts-birds-often crows and pheasants, rodents, rabbits, hares and frogs.
My friends freak of a mum eats the rabbits and hares and pheasants (after cooking them) which is odd but so is she lol.
The worst was last spring he brought home a mauled but not dead roe deer fawn-it was taken to a wildlife rescue and survived to be released when it was older.

Your cat is expressing its affection for you. Every cat has a basic instinct to hunt. Depending on their living conditions they will either play or eat their prey. They have a need to feed the human closest to them, hence your cat is sharing what it considers its food with you. This is very basic and until the relationship between you changes this habit will not.

Cats bring in live mice to teach you how to catch food as they would with their young. Dead ones are presents

it's a prize and he is giving it to you. Hunting is part of who cats are. Even house cats. And especially ones who are let outside. Don't get mad at him for it though. He won't be able to understand why you're not happy. My sister's cat does this and there hasn't been anything she can to stop him. Just dump the mouse.

They are a gift for you. He realises you are not able to catch the food yourself so he's bringing it for you. You're very honoured. Not that it's very pleasant when you get up in the night and step on a body. (Been there, done that) Just hope he doesn't move on to the next stage in your training and bring you in live ones to play with.

Hi there
I'm not trying to be a smart alec but maybe don't let your cat out at night or else close your bedroom door to stop your unwanted night time visiters.

my moms cat use to kill moles and tiny birds and put them on the mat in front of the front door so she would see them in the morning when she went out. It was cute, mom always said it was a present for her. The cat died a couple months ago, she was 12 yrs. old a good cat too.
