Pay attention to her while you're using the computer. My boyfriend's cat does the same thing, because she wants attention.

The Obvious Answer is put the Laptop where the cat can't reach to jump on it -if you are working on it shoo her off saying No for do this EVERY time and she will soon get the idea that she can't but is she's ben allowed to then why should she not. You can also spray the area right around the lap top being careful not to let any get into the laptop with OFF for cats-cats do not like the smell/offensive to them and they stay away.

There is a product called "Kitty No" out on the market that you can spray, not necessarily ON your laptop, but around it that will prevent the cat from jumping up on there. It has a distinct smell, but it is tolerable. You can also get a light adhesive paper and put that around your laptop, thye will be less prone to being around something that their paws stick to. You can get both at Wal_mart.

To get your cat to stop jumping on your laptop is you should get a spray bottle, and once she's about to jump up there, you spray her. That always worked with my cats and they stopped.

You can also try blowing in her face when she does it, just like you're blowing on some hot food or something. Most cats I have had don't like that at all. Spray bottles usually work too, but that might be a little risky around a laptop.

lol It's her way of saying 'stop this nonsense and play with me'. My cat is always jumping up on my desk and will purposely lay across my mouse or keyboard and not budge. Letting me know he wants attention. NOW! Once I play with him for bout 15 min., cuddle with him or whatever he wants, he goes off satisfied to sleep, eat, or whatever.

My cat does that all the time on my expenive keyboard and a few time caused my computer to shut down (I lost all my unsaved material). Usually now what I do (after my cat deleted a whole resume) is keep a squirt gun handy and when my cat comes I give her a few good squirts. :-)

You can tell the cat a firm NO. They act stupid but actually they can understand your tone that you disapprove whatever they are doing. I push my kitty nose with my index finger and say no, he hates that and stop buggin my laptop.

You can't with out being really mean to him. Every time i sit down in front of my computer my cat who never pays any attention to me is right there next to me meowing then he jumps right on my keyboard and sits down like its cool. they just don't like you to give more attn. to something other then them. so what i do is just pet him in a way that bothers him, my cat hates to have is thighs petted so i pet him there and he jumps down. try it but don't be mean :)

Try spraying her with a water gun when she gets near to the computer. Cats hate water.

My cats used to do that, but since I kept putting them down when they did that, they got the message. Now they lay on my arms so I've learned to type only moving my fingers. Sometimes, they will try to catch the cursor, but generally they just snore.
