I know something is wrong with my cat. She's about 10 years old, and she's pretty fat. But lately, she's been going to the litter box a lot to pee, but she spends about 3 to 5 minutes in the litter box and only goes a very tiny bit each time, like she's having a really hard time going pee. I'm going to go to the vet tomorrow and set up an appointment...the problem is that she is a very mean cat, so to even check on her the vet is going to have to put her to sleep just to touch her. Has anyone else had a problem like this with their cat? Help!!

She also is trying to clean herself constantly but she's too fat and can't reach. Which isn't my fault but my parent's fault, who decided to feed her so much people food when she was younger and before i took her with me to my house.

yes, i've figured out for myself that it's a urinary tract infection. I just don't know what to do right now because I can't get her to the vet and she's had it for about a day now

I finally got a vet appointment this morning in 2 hours, and she's still doing all right, even though she got sick last night. Hopefully I'll get her in soon enough

Cats often get what the vet may call "Crystals" or, as you have said, urinary tract infection. They often get this when their food has too much "ash" in it. Cats need a fairly acidic food, a good quality one. This keeps the "crystals" suspended and does not allow them to cling and cause a blockage.

This is painful for the cat so try and see your vet as soon as possible.

You need to get your cat to the vet ASAP. If it is a urinary track blockage, it is life threatening. If she cannot pee, the urine will build up in the baldder and the bladder could tear or burst, poisoning the cat.

It could be a bladder infection.
