I saw a show on the science channel about cats that says they see certain colours, such as blues and greens, but they can't see the colour red. they see it as black. i'm not sure how they know this exactly, they didn't explain that, but i'm assuming they know what they're talking about! : )
cheers,
Shauna!

I remember seeing something on a nature channel some odd years ago...Cats do see in color, maybe not in the full spectrum, but definably in color. Should be easy enough to find out surfing around the web

At one time it was thought that cats were color blind and only saw black, white and gray.
But, I've read studies that say this isn't true.
Cats do see color, but they don't see shades of color the way we do.

Black, white and shades of gray.
There was one test that found a cat was able to differenciate between two different shades of red...but note: "shade".
We don't REALLY know. We can only speculate from the make up of cones and rods in their eyes...and tests that "seem."

Cats can see color but tend to be indifferent to it.

it was once thought so but apparently not...though it isn;t thought they see in the same colour as we do, and probably in darker shades
