Sometimes she seems to have a hard time going to the bathroom and will go on the floor instead....when i clean it up I can tell it's very hard, so I imagine it's uncomfortable. It's not always like that, just occasionaly. She will NOT eat hairball medicine. I have hairball treats and food to help with hair digestion, but is there something more I can give her? That also wont give her diarhhea (sp, i know..) since this isnt a constant issue?

You need to get your cat to take in more liquids. Give a her canned food or you can see if she will eat pumpkin. Pumpkin can be used for constipation and diarrhea. You can give her a couple tablespoons a day if you are able.

Make sure that your cat is getting sufficient water. If it's an indoor cat, they need to have greens (outdoor cats will eat grass). You can purchase a grow kit at just about any pet store. There is Cat Lax, Laxatone (and I'm sure many others) that is a laxative and it also helps to relieve hairballs, that can be found at the pet store as well. There are brands of dry cat food that are specifically for hairballs. There are foods with brown rice that implements fiber in their diet to help them get going. If none of this helps and they haven't had any bowel movement you need to get them to the vet. They may have a blocked digestive system or impacted feces that has to come out, otherwise you're going to have an extremely sick cat because all of those toxins and bacteria will have a severe effect on their health. Hope this helps . . . it's miserable being constipated as a human and our cats are no different

I have always heard to give a cat canned pumpkin, about a heaping tbsp. I have never had to try it, and don't know if my cats would eat it, but I heard that a lot of cats like it . Also the lax atone should work ,just rub it across their mouth and they will lick it ( or on their paw)Possibly a little bit of olive oil in the food would help.

I get stuff from my vet called Laxatone. It is tuna flavored and comes in a squeezy tube. You can squirt it out on your fingers and swipe it right in their mouth.

get advise from your vet (laxatone usually works). DO NOT GIVE ANY HUMAN MEDS (cats are very sensitive to some of them)

liquid paraffin is good, vets commonly use it. Ask your vet for some, its really cheap - just put a few drops in her food and it softens everything up. Good luck

Milk usually loosens my cats up. But it's usually diarhea, but maybe give her just a little.
