Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Here is the link for your friend to Rainbow Bridge. It is a nice layout. I already posted once today for someone else. Tell your friend Kathy it is OK to feel the way she does and do not let anyone tell her otherwise. Psychologist say that the grief we experience is the same grief you feel if you lose a family member. Only time helps.

That is a long life for a kitty that I am sure was well taken care of. My condolences to a fellow cat lover.

Treasure your memories; remember the good times and what you loved most about your cat.

I feel that when we lose a pet, we feel that we lose their unconditional love (which is why so many enjoy having pets and being around animals in general). Remembering that pet will help us to accept that they never stopped loving us.

Hugs to you Kathy and to the memories of Tiger.

And hugs to you for being her friend and wanting to show her that she has support from people she does not know. You are a kind person.

Never heard of Rainbow Bridge.

Perhaps you could make her a small scrapbook about Tiger. Or you could buy a nice picture frame and have it engraved with Tiger's name and birth/death dates.

My mother lost her cat after 17 years, and Dad buried him the backyard, giving him a concrete slab marker so the animals wouldn't dig him up. He wrote Tinker's name in the concrete, and I think Mom appreciated that more than anything else Dad could have done.

Get all her friends together and put up some posters. They should be able to find this beautiful animal. Has anyone called the SPCA and police to let them know the animal is missing? Good luck Kathy , I hope you find this wonderful animal.

actually, most vets offices and pet stores have sympathy cards for pet owners now.i love that because it's really important to let your friend know that her pet was a very important part of her life, you're a good friend to know that!!
